Purple Comet Plant Druid Build overview
This build is essentially a combination of Druid plant-based skills and the spell-based skill Comet. The "purple" refers to the visual effects when the build is used in practice.
Before the release of Druid, Purple Comet style was common in Blood Mage or Lich builds, boasting high damage and mob clearing capabilities. Now, combined with plant-based skills, its damage output is further enhanced.
Overall, this build runs very smoothly, and the rotation is simple. You just need to prepare the skills and gear mentioned below, and then use them normally to achieve the desired buffs and combat results.
Skill and gem recommendations
Entangle and Thrashing Vines are the main plant skills in Path of Exile 2, but in this build, you'll use Entangle more. Entangle's main purpose is to better trigger critical strike casting, while Thrashing Vines focuses on physical damage.
Based on this, you'll need to continue adding support gems like Concentrated Area to extend the casting duration of plant skills and increase physical mastery.
Thunder Storm skill deals lightning damage to enemies and has a chance to electrocute them. When choosing support gems for it, prioritize those that reduce cooldown time, such as Expanse.
Next is Elemental Weakness skill. It's incredibly useful against large bosses, especially if you're on a budget. Suitable support gems include Magnified Area, Heightened Curse, Prolonged Duration II, and more.
Next, we'll discuss the core skill of this build, Comet, and its synergistic meta gem, Cast on Critical (CoC).
Comet primarily deals cold damage to enemies, while CoC builds energy when you crit an enemy. Once the energy is full, it automatically casts a related spell - including Comet.
After equipping these two gems, first, you need to ensure their levels are high enough to deal more damage. Secondly, you need to upgrade their quality to 20% to ensure skill retention efficiency, allowing you to trigger critical strike casting with only 91 points.
The next skill to add is Living Bomb, but keep its level as low as possible, then add Spell Cascade to copy Comet. Lineage Support Gem Dialla's Desire can increase skill level and quality, and reduce the spirit required for critical strike casting.
Finally, Convalescence can quickly restore your energy shield to 100% when it slightly decreases. Siphon Elements helps you gain more infusion and increases the damage of your plant abilities.
Gear selection
First, for weapons, you can choose a combination of Wand and Focus, but a standalone Stat Prio for Staff is better. Based on this, staff level is the element you should prioritize, followed by spell or physical damage, and casting speed.
If you can only add staff as a secondary weapon, then you can equip Chiming Staff, and you don't need to consider its special attributes, as it exists solely to synergize with abilities.
More gear options and their corresponding effects are as follows:
- Gloves - Nightscale: Increases mana regeneration.
- Belt - Ingenuity or Headhunter: Increases resistances and provides bonuses to other gear or abilities.
- Amulet: Has a sufficiently high level, spirit value, spell damage, and casting speed.
- Body armor: Increases resistances and enhances energy shield.
- Rings: These should ideally have effects that increase cast speed percentage, maximum mana, and maximum health. Increased resistance or rarity is also desirable.
Passive tree unlocking
This build's damage primarily relies on elemental damage, so you should choose talents like Endless Blizzard, Stormbreaker, and Everlasting Infusions.
Considering this build's weakness lies in chaos damage, you need to focus on increasing chaos resistance. However, this attribute is not easy to obtain, making unlocking Chaos Inoculation passive a better option.
Building on this, you should continue unlocking Tempered Mind for a critical strike damage bonus. Alternatively, Patient Barrier is also a good choice, unlocking an additional 1200 to 2000 energy shield by upgrading it.
Besides unlocking nodes, you can also insert jewels into the jewel slots in the passive tree for additional bonuses. This is a special type of item; basic jewels provide direct stat increases, while other types of jewels offer more complex effects.
For Purple Comet Plant Druid Build, it's best to add jewels that provide maximum energy shield, critical strike chance, casting speed, and elemental damage boost.

The official Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0d was recently released, and it's expected to be officially implemented in some games this week. Patch 0.4.0d contains a lot of content. However, Ranger's basic skills can still be crafted into powerful builds by combining them with other mechanics. Of course, there are many connections between the basic and Ascendancy classes, but the builds we'll introduce next focus more on Ranger skills rather than Ascendancy-specific talents. Best Ranger Build The reason we've rated this Ranger build as the best is that it boasts massive damage, enabling rapid mob clearing and easy pinnacle boss kills. All of this is based on Poisonburst Arrow. This build performed quite well during the last league, and the release of Patch 0.4.0 primarily strengthened/weakened two Ascendancy classes, so this build wasn't significantly affected; in fact, it became even more convenient to use. Core mechanics of this build This is a build entirely centered around poison. Killing regular enemies and clearing mobs requires Poisonburst Arrow, while fighting bosses and elite monsters relies on Toxic Growth. The poison mechanic in Path of Exile 2 essentially inflicts chaos damage as a status effect on enemies. The damage value scales with your physical and chaos attack damage, but cannot be boosted by other powerful damage multipliers. However, equipping Plaguefinger Gauze Wraps can overcome this limitation, as this item allows you to utilize all elemental damage bonuses, effectively doubling your damage output. As for the specific usage, first use Herald of Plague to spread your highest-damage poison, then apply a bleed effect to trigger Herald of Blood, inflicting the poison effect on the enemy. Based on this, the poison will trigger Bursting Plague, Bursting Plague will trigger bleed, and the bleeding enemy will trigger Herald of Blood, creating a clever little loop, particularly effective in clearing groups of enemies. In terms of skill rotation, this build is essentially a one-button style; you simply keep pressing Poisonburst Arrow and wait for other chain effects to trigger to kill enemies. However, when challenging bosses, you'll need to combine it with other skills. More gem options First is Vine Arrow. Although it doesn't actually hit enemies, its long duration allows for focused attacks on specific areas, and it can deal massive damage by poisoning enemies. Furthermore, combining it with Overabundance releases an additional Vine Arrow. Next, you need to add Ghost Dance, as this Ranger build focuses on evasion and energy shields in its defensive mechanics - there's some good synergy between the two; Ghost Dance helps you regenerate your energy shield. Then there's Gas Arrow. It can also be used to better deal with bosses by detonating Toxic Growth. To do this, you need to increase its damage; once the damage reaches a certain level, you can continue to increase its duration and area of effect. In fact, Toxic Growth skill itself can also deal massive damage, making it the best choice for quickly killing bosses. However, if you're only using this build for farming, you don't need to add this skill. Despair reduces enemy chaos resistance, Herald of Plague spreads poison, and Herald of Blood is used for Chaining. Chaining, combined with mana leech, grants a significant mana gain and deals AoE damage by amplifying skill range. Plaguefinger Gauze Wraps we mentioned earlier are essential. You'll need to equip a bow as your primary weapon type and invest enough PoE 2 currency to fully enhance its various affix effects. For a Ranger build, it's recommended to prioritize stacking physical damage for your bow, followed by extra arrows and critical strike chance. Increased attack speed is also a good option. With a bow, a quiver is essential. For this gear, prioritize stacking projectile skill level, then maximize damage, and finally, stack critical strike chance once you can acquire critical strike runes. As for armor, prioritize increasing dodge and energy shield - helmets need energy shields, chest armor needs dodge. A combination of dodging and energy shields works well too. After maxing out these stats, then stack resistances. For boots, movement speed is paramount. Amulets should prioritize skill level, rings should prioritize base damage, and finally resistances. Additionally, you should stack high agility on any gear. Passive tree unlocking The first node to unlock should be Overwhelming Toxicity, which nearly doubles your damage. Then, unlock Relentless Pursuit to avoid being slowed, and Running Assault to prevent being stunned while sprinting. The last major talent node is Path Seeker, which provides additional talent points. Alternatively, you can unlock Sustainable Practices to increase defense. If you have enough points left, you can continue unlocking talent points related to increasing damage, or focus on options that increase poison damage and duration. Summary Based on the above setup, in combat you can easily clear the entire map simply by dashing, firing poison arrows, dashing again, and repeating this cycle. For elite monsters or mini-bosses, you can use Toxic Growth on them and then detonate them with Poisonburst Arrow. More dangerous bosses can be dealt with using more precise combos. Path of Exile 2 0.4.0 ...
PoE 2 patch 0.4.0 has been out for almost a month, bringing numerous buffs, nerfs, skill reworks, and even some hidden changes, completely altering how many builds function. Let's take a look at the current meta builds and see which ones are the winners of this patch and which are suitable for starting the season and heading straight to the endgame. Tier D Builds Hollow Palm Builds Hollow Palm builds are one of the biggest losers of Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0. This is because this build relies almost entirely on stacking attack speed, and many sources of attack speed in the game have been nerfed in patch 0.4.0; Charge Regulation talent has lost its “more” attack speed bonus, and runes that previously stacked attack speed are now limited. More importantly, the core gem's effect has changed from a separate source of more attack speed to a weaker increase in attack speed. Life Stacking Blood Leech builds Before Patch 0.4, this type of build was unexpectedly powerful, as it could stack multiple synergistic bonuses that the developers hadn't anticipated. Combined with the old Regeneration, players could gain 3 to 4 times the extra life, making them able to withstand almost any damage. However, this mechanism has been completely removed. The life stacking key talent now has a cap of 40%, and Regeneration has been reworked, causing Rathpith to lose its most powerful synergy effect. Frenzy Consuming Bow Build Although patch 0.4 numerically buffed Frenzy Consuming Bow skill, the significant nerf to Frenzy Bow in patch 0.3 still doesn't solve the consumables problem. Whirlwind And Similar Mobile Melee Builds In previous patches, players could gain 100% damage reduction, maintaining high-speed movement while channeling or attacking. This type of build was severely impacted by the rework of the movement speed penalty mechanism. The movement rune on boots has been nerfed, the chest armor affix that removes penalties has been removed, and penalty reductions on the talent tree have been weakened and scattered. General Staff Caster Builds (No Infusion) Staff actually received a comprehensive damage boost in PoE 2 patch 0.4.0, but the problem is that Infusion-based builds received a huge increase in damage, and Witchhunter's Sorcery Ward skill became extremely powerful. In comparison, non-Infusion builds cannot compete with it on either offense or defense. Tier C Builds General Deadeye Bow Build Deadeye was very strong in patch 0.3.0, but the rework of Tailwind in version 0.4 caused him to fall drastically. Minion Invoker Build The Invoker received some reworks in Patch 0.4.0, retaining more Spirits and reducing dodge penalty. However, Unbound Avatar was severely nerfed, making the summon's burst damage somewhat insufficient, but it's still playable. Tier B Builds Lightning or Flame Infusion Sorceress Build Infusion builds are winners of Patch 0.4.0. Flame Infusion particularly benefits from the new 20-40% damage bonus on support abilities. Maintaining Infusion is now easier, and the new energy orb absorption range is also very helpful. This build has excellent damage, and excellent farming speed, but its survivability may be inconsistent. Lightning Infusion is slightly faster, but also faces survivability issues. Cold Infusion Sorceress Build Similar to Flame Infusion, the enhanced support abilities make Cold Infusion even more powerful, and the upgrade to Infusion maintenance is also a huge help. It performs exceptionally well in the mid-game, although its single-target damage is slightly lower than Flame, it has better crowd control. Spear Frenzy Consumer Build Spear build has received a significant buff in this League. Spear skill, which consumes Frenzy Charges, has received a meaningful numerical increase. While attack speed nerf does affect it, the increase in base damage compensates for this. Tier A Builds Titan Hulkform Shapeshifter And Mace Slam Build The introduction of the new Druid passive ability has had a huge impact on Titans. Titan's Ascendancy talent provides a 50% increase to all minor talent points, while Druid talent tree is filled with powerful and efficient minor nodes. This also makes Titan Mace Slam damage even higher. Titan Crossbow Build You get excellent defensive growth from the minor node bonuses, while the crossbow benefits from Titan's survivability. This build doesn't have insane damage, but it strikes a balance between damage and safety. Rain of Arrows Build ROA still achieves 100% movement speed penalty reduction on attack, meaning ROA is currently the only build in the entire game that allows you to maintain full movement speed while attacking. Witchhunter Sorcery Ward Build This is one of the biggest winners in terms of defense in version 0.4. Now, Sorcery Ward can absorb all types of damage, including physical, chaos, and elemental damage, not just spell damage. Combining Witchhunter's inherent evasion and skill characteristics, you get one of the most resilient and safest spellcasters in the game. Invoker Spirit Caster Build Compared to Summoner variant, the changes to Unbound Avatar have little impact on this build, while the adjustments to Spirit are a direct buff. Crit Bow Deadeye Build Despite suffering significant defensive nerfs, Deadeye's damage remains excellent. Tailwind still provides movement speed, and the glancing damage reduction mechanic is also very helpful. Tier S Builds Pathfinder Builds Pathfinder is perhaps the most comprehensive and biggest winner of this patch. It can now build talent trees from almost any area, and can convert all small attribute points into global damage, global defense, or resource cost reduction. Path of Exile 2 Roadma ...
For Path of Exile 2, 2025 was a turbulent year, as it was in a critical early access phase, facing numerous development challenges, including balancing serious endgame issues, integrating new Acts, refining game mechanics, and addressing player feedback on frequent updates. However, regarding 2025, we still consider POE 2 an undeniable success, as the game recouped its development costs shortly after its early access release. As we officially leave 2025 and enter 2026, Path of Exile 2 enters a new phase. We know that many players still have questions about the game, the adjustments to core gameplay, the endgame rework, and when it will leave early access. Perhaps all of these questions will be answered in the new year. Although the studio hasn't released a clear 2026 roadmap yet, we want to discuss some exciting new content based on the information we have so far, which we believe will be released throughout 2026. More Mechanics Entering Core Gameplay Let's start with the first thing: we are slowly seeing more and more content being integrated into POE 2's core gameplay. For example, in patch 0.3.0, they added Abyss league mechanic to the core game, making it a continuous progression system starting from Act 1. This system includes dynamic Abyss Pits that generate fissures, empowered Lichborn enemies, Abyssal Troves, and access to Abyssal Depths mini-dungeons containing new bosses. Players can use Abyssal Bones for unique crafting, adding powerful affixes, making it a continuous and rewarding part of the core leveling and mapping experience. Although the juice yield from Abyss has been somewhat nerfed, it remains very lucrative and a good way to earn POE 2 currency. In addition, Temple of Atziri, inspired by Incursion mechanic from the original game, is also one of the core mechanics in POE 2 patch 0.4.0. The development team is continuously adjusting it to make it a more predictable and long-term valuable gameplay experience, rather than just relying on luck. This indicates that Temple will be integrated into the core gameplay, allowing players to explore it in depth and earn rewards. Of course, Temple juice might also be nerfed. However, if it maintains a similar status and development trajectory to Abyss mechanic, I believe players will enjoy Temple in 2026 and also reap substantial monetary rewards from it. We also can't forget Mercenaries league mechanic, a mode that is very popular with players. It will eventually become a core part of the game, but we don't know the exact timing. This is because they need time to rebalance it, better integrate it into the core game, and learn from previous league experiences, such as how to handle powerful items and balance the strength levels of mercenaries. As the game matures, more and more exciting content will become core content in 2026, and I believe this will only make Path of Exile 2 a more beloved game. 0.5.0 Endgame Rework One of the reasons we believe 2026 will be an uphill year for POE 2 is that the next patch, 0.5.0, expected in Spring 2026, will feature a major rework of the endgame content. I believe this is a consensus; the endgame content is definitely the weakest part of the game. Originally, the developers said they would address the endgame mechanics in patch 0.4.0, but many players were very disappointed because their long-awaited large-scale endgame rework plan was canceled and postponed. Patch 0.4.0 mainly focused on balance adjustments and some minor changes, and did not fully address players' complaints about core issues in the late game. Players still face problems with map layout, reward systems, and overall game progression. Overall, the 0.5.0 update is most likely to solve this problem, hopefully so, which is why I think it's a good sign for Path of Exile 2. There are mixed opinions about Endless Atlas rework in the endgame. However, I personally believe that if done well, they can still keep it, because the endless map does provide them with an excellent opportunity to be creative and think outside the box in terms of endgame content. Therefore, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how they improve the endgame content in version 0.5.0 in 2026, as this is truly a huge untapped potential. Class System Balancing Next, we want to mention Druid class released in 0.4.0. This new class demonstrates the immense potential of the class system in Path of Exile 2. Many players love Druid's Ascendancy classes and different shapeshifting forms, and the build diversity they offer is simply amazing. Therefore, we believe this is an example, a roadmap of how the class system in Path of Exile 2 should work, because it itself confirms and demonstrates how much build diversity benefits the game. So, as we move into 2026, POE 2's class balancing will probably focus more on adjusting core mechanics and leveraging the unique strengths of each class, moving away from over-reliance on equipment and towards a gameplay style that emphasizes skill execution. At the same time, classes that underperform in the early game, like the Sorceress, should receive some buffs, and the overpowered advantages of Druid and Mercenary should be balanced to create a smooth combat experience and diverse endgame gameplay. Class adjustments are expected to continue throughout 2026 to ensure that all 12 classes and their Ascendancies provide a unique, powerful, and balanced gameplay experience upon official release. When will early access end? Finally, I think the real big event in 2026 is that Path of Exile 2 will leave Early Access and enter its official release. This will open the doors for players who have been waiting for the official release before starting to play, as many players don't want to participate in the iterative process of game design adjustments. Currently, they expect to release the 1.0 official version in the fourth quarter of 2026, because the remaining main story, all classes and Ascendancies, and more skills, monsters, and systems are still under development, and everything takes time. For a more precise date, we guess it will most likely be released in December, as this will be the two-year anniversary of POE 2, and more importantly, I sincerely hope they don't delay it until 2027. Final Thoughts Obviously, there are many more things happening in 2026 that we can't cover completely, including four more classes, more Ascendancies, new trials, and more quality-of-life improvements coming to the game. However, we don't think all of this content will be completed before the 1.0 release. In short, I believe 2026 will be a very positive year for Path of Exile 2. Of course, as with any RPG, the development process won't be entirely smooth, which is perfectly normal, especially during the early access phase.
