Elden Ring DLC: This Top-Tier Bleed Great Katana Build Will Help You Overwhelm Your Targets With Ease!
Here, we bring you a deadly Samurai Build that wields a massive Nodachi that overwhelms its targets with maximum thrust damage and bleed procs. Even the strongest and toughest bosses in the game are no match for this build.
So if you’re looking for a powerful Samurai, Bleed Great Katana Build is the one for you. In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to maximize this build, explain the challenges this build can face, and help you overcome them. Let’s get straight into it!
Gameplay
This build masters the art of wielding Great Katana and performs Goring Thrust, dealing massive amounts of damage to its targets and causing them to bleed in the process. But what makes it even more terrifying is mastering Bloodflame Incantations and using these spells to your advantage.
This Bleed Great Katana is one of the most powerful builds in the game, making boss fights seem trivial and common enemies drop like flies. This build focuses on Strength and Dexterity as its main stats.
Stats
Let’s move on to the build’s stats.
We allocated 50 points to Vigor to give the user a fair amount of survivability in combat. As always, if you feel that you really need more health when adapting to the gameplay of this build, you are welcome to adjust it to 60 points at any time.
This setup requires a small amount of Focus to perform optimally, so we allocated 20 points to Mind. And for Endurance, 25 points is just right for this play style.
Strength and Dexterity will be the main offensive attributes in this build, so we allocated 69 points to Strength and 63 points to Dexterity.
In addition, Faith was increased by 25 points so that we can cast critical buffs later. Finally, Intelligence and Arcane did not increase any points.
Gear
It’s time to build gear, and Great Katana is making a comeback. This Great Katana requires 14 Strength and 18 Dexterity for the user to properly use the weapon. Meanwhile, it has B scaling for Strength, and B for Dexterity if the user sets it to Quality.
Of course, you can also infuse the weapon with Quality Affinity to get better scaling, and thus a higher attack rating.
Now, for the Ashes of War of Great Katana, we will be setting it up with Repeating Thrust. While Ash of War looks simple and straightforward, in this configuration it will deal a lot of damage while maintaining ease of use.
Pressing L2 once will allow the user to perform a fierce multiple-hitting thrust that will cause the enemy to take continuous damage. This set of thrusts will not only deal tremendous damage as mentioned above, but will also effortlessly bleed the target, causing even more damage.
Continuing with the secondary weapon of this build, you can use Finger Seal to be able to cast critical buffs and offensive spells later on. You can get this base Seal at Twin Maiden Husks for 800 Elden Ring Runes.
Spells
Next up, we have the spells we suggest. The first on the list is Flame Grant me Strength, which grants an additional 20% Physical Attack Boost and Stamina Recovery Buff.
The second buff is, of course, Golden Vow. This buff increases overall damage by 15% and adds 10% damage negation, which is very helpful for this build.
Next up is Bloodflame Blade, so we can drastically speed up the rate at which our targets bleed. It pairs well with Ash of War: Repeating Thrust, since this skill has a multi-attack animation. On the other hand, fire damage is just a bonus, and we’ll be relying on raw firepower with this configuration.
Bloodboon will also make a comeback, since it fits the theme of the build and serves a diversity purpose. Like in the past, you can cast Bloodboon before approaching the boss, so you can increase your blood loss faster. This spell isn’t necessary, though, since you can mainly focus on dealing with Repeating Thrust alone and call it a day.
Talismans
Next up we have Talismans you need for this build. As always, first up is Shard of Alexander, which increases skill damage by 15%.
The next Talisman for this build is Lord of Blood’s Exultation, as you’ll be dealing with fast and frequent bleed procs in this build. When it’s active, you can easily knock out a target and end the fight.
If the enemy isn’t bleeding, you can swap out Lord of Blood’s Exultation for a Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman for increased survivability, or a Two-Headed Turtle Talisman for increased stamina regeneration.
For the third and final slot, we’re dealing with fast multiple-hitting attacks as the major source of damage for this build, slotting in Millicent’s Prosthesis and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia are the best choices for this build. All of your attacks are fast and multi-hitting, so you can easily keep the attack boosts from these Talismans.
Best Wondrous Physick Combination
For Flask of Wondrous Physick Combination, slotting in Thorny Cracked Tear is a smart move for this build. Pair it with Bloodsucking Cracked Tear because the health loss in this configuration is not that devastating, since the enemies will die quickly, anyway. This will allow the user to have a glass cannon playstyle.
However, if you find that the health loss per second from Bloodsucking Cracked Tear is too much, you can equip Greenburst Crystal Tear to restore stamina faster.
Armor Set
Continuing with its Armor Set. Since this build is a dark and edgy samurai theme, we equipped Iron Kasa as a headdress, Death Knight pieces as armor and gloves, and finally Leather Boots as greaves. This hybrid set works well and is definitely worth your time in the long run.
Pros & Cons
Finally, let’s talk about the pros and cons of this Bleed Great Katana from all aspects.
Pros
First, start with the pros. First of course is the insane damage output of this build. Without counting bleed procs, Repeating Thrust can already deal a ton of damage in this setup. Enemies that are resistant to bleeding will still die faster than with other setups.
The amazing damage of this build is made even better by the fact that the build is able to deal bleed procs. Repeating Thrust can easily increase and deal bleeding to a target. Therefore, this makes the game a bit too easy.
Also, dealing a ton of damage while keeping the build easy to use is also a huge plus. Mastering the timing of Repeating Thrust is pretty easy in my opinion. Repeating Thrust can stun enemies during the animation, so most of the time, humanoid targets can’t do anything with this setup.
The last plus is the super high FP Efficiency of this build, which only requires 7 Focus Points per Repeating Thrust.
Cons
Moving on to the cons. To be honest, this is one of the setups that I can’t think of too many cons for. If you equip Bloodsucking Cracked Tear, without any HP Regen buffs, you’ll have this glass cannon playstyle that anyone can adapt to instantly.
However, even without Bloodsucking Cracked Tear equipped, the user still does a ton of damage compared to other builds.
The second downside is the lack of variety in the build. If you decide to focus on maxing out the attack rating of Great Katana, you’ll have very few stats to play with.
Conclusion
Overall, Bleed Great Katana Build is one of the best melee builds we have at the moment. It’s incredible to be able to deal huge burst damage with just one or two skill casts, while also maintaining the overall ease of use of the build.
If you’re the type of player who likes to take it easy with violent sword thrusts and bleed procs while wanting focused and simple gameplay, this build is for you. If you want to find some like-minded players to discuss build ideas with, join iGMeet Discord, where you'll not only have the latest news you want to know, but also giveaway events from time to time to participate. Elden Ring: Do You Know How ...
Golden Hippopotamus is one of the easier bosses to find in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and has a relatively small set of attacks compared to bosses like Divine Beast Dancing Lion and Rellana. But having a few moves doesn’t mean it’s easy to defeat. During the battle, one slight mistake on your part could put you in trouble. This guide will introduce the steps to defeat Golden Hippopotamus and its location, so that you are prepared for this battle. Locations Of Golden Hippopotamus Golden Hippopotamus is located in the courtyard in the center of Shadow Keep, and you will collide with him head-on if you enter from the southern entrance of Scadu Altus. Technically, this boss is an optional boss, but defeating him will give you two Scadutree Fragments as a reward, so it’s worth fighting him. If you don’t have an NPC ally to help you, you can summon your Spirit Ash companion. Preparation Before The Battle As far as we know, this monster is weak in slashing damage and also has a poor balance. So you can break its balance by using gravity magic or strong attacks. In terms of skills, Rock Sling is recommended. Even if you miss the hitbox that provides you with a critical hit during the fight with it, you can still cause serious damage by attacking its head. In terms of weapons, swords, greatswords, and daggers are all very reliable helpers. Backhand Blade may not have such high scaling, but it provides fast strikes and unique Ash of War that allows you to dodge around the target, so you may also consider bringing it. In addition, Blackgaol Knight’s sword is also a good choice. If you are using a magic build, any Elden Ring Items that can increase Faith or Intelligence can be used for you. If you only want assists, then you need to start Hornsent’s questline first, because they can become your combat allies in this battle. In addition, you can also let your Spirit Ash summon do the work, especially if you have a Mimic Tear. With Mimic Tear at level 6 and above, and Revered Spirit Ash at level 4 and above, Golden Hippopotamus can be defeated entirely with Spirit Ash companions. Besides this, Black Knife Tiche, Nightmaiden and Swordmistress Puppets, and Swordmaster Yosh, can all make you a cup of tea in battle. It is important to note that you must make sure to upgrade your Elden Ring Items. If you run out of Smithing Stones or Glovewort, you need to return to Lands Between and get some Bell Bearings for Maiden Husks for them. Steps To Fight Golden Hippopotamus behaves similarly to Ulcerated Tree Spirits, with most of its lethal damage coming from its head and mouth. It has a long body and neck that stretches far out to prevent you from running away. On the plus side, Golden Hippopotamus is afraid of direct damage because of its enormous size, which means you have more safe attack points to fight it than other bosses, especially since you have Spirit Ash to distract it. Phase 1 Golden Hippopotamus will only attack you a few times in the initial stage, which may sound difficult to deal with, and it is, as these attacks are linked together. Golden Hippopotamus also moves faster than you think, so it is easy to be grabbed and knocked down before you can react. After you fall, it will greet you with its mouth wide open and rush towards you. This attack will knock you to the ground again, leaving you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. Even if your armor is strong, you should try to dodge forward or sideways. You can also avoid its head attacks this way. For example, if it’s running towards you with its mouth open, you can roll forward; when it’s about to bite you, you can dodge sideways. Phase 2 When you get Golden Hippopotamus down to half its health, it will stop for a moment and golden branch-like thorns will grow on its back. You can use this time to perform some additional attacks from time to time, but be careful not to stay too long. At this time, Golden Hippopotamus will send a burst of holy water spikes around, and it will occasionally repeat this attack if you stay close to it for a long time. It will signal this by shaking its body, so you need to be prepared in advance. This attack has a range of about two dodge rolls, so you don’t need to retreat too far. Avoiding the spikes is mainly based on luck, because all the spikes are strewn with sizeable gaps between each spike. Rolling sideways at this time will put you in danger, so the best way to deal with it is to dodge forward. The most dangerous attack is when Golden Hippopotamus jumps into the air and stays there for a few seconds before falling and rolling forward. This move is very powerful and can kill you if you are not at full health. Given the size of Golden Hippopotamus, your best bet for surviving is to dodge forward as it falls, or, if you are far from the impact point, dodge forward as it rolls towards you. At this stage, Golden Hippopotamus will replace the previous head swing with a powerful bite. It will lunge forward to bite, then turn its head to the side, so you need to stay away from its face. In addition, its major method - charging is also used at the same time. Both attacks give you the opportunity to get close to the side or back of Golden Hippopotamus and quickly reduce its health with your melee attacks. If you want to deal more damage, you can use string or charged attacks and powerful weapon skills to break Golden Hippopotamus’ balance. When you defeat Golden Hippopotamus, you will get: Aspect of Crucible: Thorns incantation Inspired form Hippo’s spines Two Scadutree Fragments Hopefully, you can easily defeat Golden Hippopotamus according to the steps in this guide, and have fun exploring Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC!Jun-26-2024

Elden Ring: Where To Find P ...
Paintings are easy items to overlook in Elden Ring, but as you explore Lands Between, you may come across some strange and mysterious paintings inside a building called Artist’s Shack. Players are also looking forward to whether Paintings will change in the upcoming Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which is released on June 21. These Paintings may drop rewards after you find them, whether you are a casual player or a player with a determined goal. What Are Paintings? There are 7 Paintings to find throughout Elden Ring. Finding Paintings in Artist’s Shack is only the first of two steps to getting rewards. When you find a Painting, use Triangle button to approach it and interact with it. Pick up the painting, whose image and description are in Notes tab in your Inventory. Remember to go to the place where the painting was taken (the crafting location), but not to the place described in the painting. Therefore, you need to match your location in the open world to the perspective of this painting. When you reach the right location, you will see a Ghost that looks like an Artist. Approach it and they will disappear and leave an item as a reward. You can keep these items for yourself or take them to the trading place for Elden Ring Runes. Below is a list of all Paintings locations and rewards to help you find them better. Homing Instinct Painting Artist’s Shack Location From Summonwater Village Outskirts, use Torrent to go south and then jump on the rocks in front of you. After walking along the small cliff, Artist’s Shack is in front of you. You need to interact with Homing Instinct Painting inside. Reward Location Continue to use Torrent to fast travel to Seaside Ruins. Once you arrive, drive north and you will pass some bats. There is a small graveyard in front of you. The small mound on the right is Artist. Walk up to Ghost and it will disappear, leaving you an Incantation Scarab. Prophecy Painting Artist’s Shack Location This Artist’s Shack is located in the main open area of Stormveil Castle, and there are many guards standing in a row behind the fortifications. Behind them is another enemy equipped with a greatsword and a dog next to him. This enemy is a bit tougher to fight, so you need to be careful. After defeating them, you will find Prophecy Painting inside a building to their left. Reward Location After getting Prophecy Painting, fast travel to Church of Pilgrimage in the north of Weeping Peninsula. Be careful not to enter the church, just outside, and go to the edge of the cliff, where there will be a small ruin sticking out of the ground. Two birds will rest on the edge to the right of it. To the left of the ruins you will see Ghost, which will also disappear and leave you with Warhawk Ashes. Resurrection Painting Artist’s Shack Location Artist’s Shack, where this painting is located, is located on the east side of Liurnia of Lakes and is perched on rocks. If you have explored Carian Study Hall before, you will find the location faster because it is located to the west of Carian Study Hall. Just enter and interact with Resurrection Painting. Reward Location Once you have Resurrection Painting, head to the back of Caria Manor as soon as possible. If you are unsure how to get there, head toward Three Sisters you can see and then go around the manor to get there. Once you are there, continue east until you find a graveyard. Ghost will then appear on the right side of the area, on the other side of the rock jutting upwards. Approach it and it will drop you a Juvenile Scholar Cap, Juvenile Scholar Robe, and a Larval Tear, which are very generous rewards. Redmane Painting Artist’s Shack Location First you need to be in Town of Sorcery Sellia in Caelid, then go to Site of Grace called Sellia Under-Stair. Go up the stairs and turn right. Redmane Painting is in the ruins to your left. Reward Location You need to stay in Caelid at this point and don’t go anywhere else. Continue to Dragonbarrow Fork, then east to Minor Erdtree. If you see a bunch of large broken jars to your right, you’re on the right! Find the right side of Minor Erdtree and go through the wind tunnel, which will help you to the upper ledge until you find the single large jar on the left. Use the branches below and slowly find the ground beneath the broken archway. Some small drops can be done by yourself, but some large drops should rely on Torrent. Once you are on the ground, walk to the middle and Ghost will appear. However, you can’t touch it, and it will leave you with Ash of War: Rain of Arrows. Champion’s Song Painting Artist’s Shack Location You need to head to Shaded Castle, more specifically Shaded Castle Ramparts. Turn left at the stairs behind you and follow the castle wall until you find an area on the left where you can descend. To the right of this area is a wooden shack, Artist’s Shack, with Champion’s Song Painting waiting for you on the first floor. Reward Location From Site of Grace called Rampartside Path on Altus Plateau, continue southeast until you come across a small camp. There is a path to your right that will allow you to go back the way you came. Once you reach the top, you need to move to the cliff overlooking Sainted Hero’s Grave slowly. Here, you will easily find Ghost, who will reward you with a Harp Bow. Flightless Bird Painting Artist’s Shack Location This shack is located in Fortified Manor in Royal Capital Leyndell. It is a building that looks like a round table fortress, so remember to observe it more. Flightless Bird Painting is on the first floor of the hut and is also very easy to find. Reward Location This reward requires crossing the map. You need to go to Windmill Village in Altus Plateau. Head straight to the southeast corner of this area, where Ghost will be waiting for you and will eventually reward you with Fire’s Deadly Sin spell. Sorcerer Painting Artist’s Shack Location The last painting is located in Castle Sol on Mountaintops of Giants. As soon as you exit the main entrance, turn left and go through some barbed barricades. Head up the stairs and enter the room on the left. Go up the ladder inside and walk straight along the castle wall to the end. You will find another ladder going down, and Sorcerer Painting is waiting for you at the bottom of the castle. Reward Location Do not leave Mountaintops of Giants and continue to Snow Valley Ruins Overlook. Go all the way west and cross a valley full of skeletons that are drilling out of the ground. Eventually there will be a bridge on your left, and Ghost will be sitting in the middle of the bridge to rest. Approach it and you will be rewarded with a Greathood armor piece. These are all Paintings locations and reward locations in Elden Ring. I hope it will be helpful for your exploration, and we look forward to the release of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on June 21!Jun-13-2024

Elden Ring: Do Players Need ...
Elden Ring’s new expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, will be released on June 21, and many players are wondering if they need to complete the original main quest before entering the new content. Because the base content in Elden Ring is enormous, it will take players hundreds of hours to explore all the content in The Lands Between thoroughly. For those who just want to relax, it may be a very daunting task and take them a long time. The time spent in the game depends on the player’s skill level, and most players will need 40-50 hours. This time is only enough to defeat the 11 necessary bosses, complete the quests in a hurry and do not have a deep understanding of all the plots, etc. But those who are worried about missing out on these plots can breathe a sigh of relief. It has been revealed that the missed content will come in handy when this DLC is finally released. Because FromSoftware did this with previous expansion. Need To Complete The Main Quest? Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been confirmed to fully complete the main quest before entering the new expansion, but you still need to reach the area where the expansion entrance is located. For example, in Bloodborne Old Hunters DLC, players need to defeat Vicar Amelia's boss to enter Hunter’s Nightmare. This operation has been tried in many DLCs of previous FromSoftware games, including Elden Ring Colosseum DLC. Which Step Can You Unlock New Expansion At? To unlock Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in the regular way, it takes quite a long game session, but there is an easy way! You only need to defeat two special bosses to enter the new expansion directly. The first is to defeat Starscourge Radahn, which will unlock Eternal City Nokron. Of course, you need to fight Radahn by completing the quest of Ranni or activating Site of Grace by reaching Altus Plateau. After defeating the boss during Radahn Festival, you need to enter the questline in Varre to obtain Elden Ring Items required for Mohgwyn’s Palace in the underground area. You then need to go through this area to find Lord of Blood Mohg - the last boss to be dealt with before entering the new expansion. Once you have killed him successfully, you can actively access DLC by touching Miquella’s hand at the far end of Mohg’s arena. You Can Go Deeper Into Story As You Wish While players are always strongly encouraged to progress in the game, from my point of view, it is best not to lose the battle before entering the new expansion. The first reason is that it takes a long time to defeat both bosses, especially if you want to increase your progress by killing the bosses that appear on the road. If you plan to run it a second time with New Game Plus, it may take longer. The second reason is that New Game Plus makes your game more difficult. Therefore, players may need to defeat Radahn and Mohg besides updating the clearance content. In the worst case, they may not unlock Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. While New Game Plus in some ways increases the health of bosses and other enemies, in another way it also allows players to complete the first attempt of Elden Ring DLC at a higher level. For players who are constantly looking for new and harder challenges, this makes sense. But for players who already find the base game difficult, New Game Plus does increase the difficulty of DLC. Different people have different opinions. Of course, this does not prevent you from making a lot of progress in the game and picking up some of the best endgame weapons and gear. But in fact, you are better off getting as deep into the base game’s campaign as possible. Summary In addition, during Elden Ring DLC hands-on preview sessions, you are also better off setting your character to level 100 or above in advance, so that you can get higher stats and better equipment later. FromSoftware has always had a tradition of DLC being much more difficult than the base game, especially with featured bosses. For example, the ultimate boss of Bloodborne DLC, Orphan of Kos, is a very typical example. What? You think it’s not strong enough? What about Darkeater Midir and Slave Knight Gael from Dark Souls 3? Therefore, players who find the base game difficult are strongly advised not to use New Game Plus to enter the new expansion. However, there are exceptions. Players who rely entirely on Marika’s Hammer or Sacred Relic Sword can kill a lot in those “hard modes”. These two weapons will drop last before the credits. In addition, players can try different builds and weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to achieve different effects. It should be noted that the weapons obtained by defeating Maliketh, Radagon, and Elden Beast in Elden Ring are the best weapons in the game. But with the updated equipment provided in DLC, you can also try a lot of new options. Like you, I am looking forward to Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which will be officially released tomorrow. See you in the game and wish you a merry game.Jun-19-2024

Elden Ring: How About This ...
For a Samurai build who wants to level up quickly in the latest expansion, I prefer to prioritize finding one of the newest weapons that fits our play style, Great Katana. Many players are also looking forward to getting this weapon. If you want to get Great Katana as early as possible in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree without being spoiled, then don’t miss this guide. In this guide, I tell you the best way to get the earliest Great Katana in the game, as spoiler-free as possible so that you can get a fresh experience before venturing into the core of DLC. At the same time, here I also provide my first impressions of Great Katana. Without further ado, let’s get started! Great Katana Breakdown Great Katana is a new weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree. This Heavy weapon is a sound choice for those who like to use Katana but want to stance-break more effectively and deal more damage at the same time. Great Katana scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity, making it one of the best weapon choices for Dexterity and Arcane Builds. In addition, this weapon comes with Ash of War: Overhead Stance. When using Ash of War, you can enter a stance that holds Katana high above your head. Normal attacks will push you forward for a downward slash, while heavy attacks will do a series of overhead slashes. Location To get this super cool weapon, we still need to access DLC. You need to first defeat Starscourge Radahn, then go to Mohgwyn Palace and defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood. Once you’ve completed both of these steps, you can interact with Miquella’s Cocoon, which is located in Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, where you’ll fight Mohg, thus entering Land of Shadow and starting DLC. Although we need to enter DLC to get this weapon, luckily, we don’t have to fight any bosses in Land of Shadow. Once you enter DLC area, we just need to head straight to it. This is a real Godsend, as it’s not far from your first Site of Grace, Gravesite Plain. From Gravesite Plain Site of Grace in DLC, we need to head north. To speed things up, you can ignore all the enemies you may encounter along the way. Of course, if you’re not in a hurry, you can just hack and slash around to collect some Elden Ring Runes. Our goal is to reach a lake located just north of our current location. Now, if you look at the map, you’ll see that there are three large lakes around this area, but the one we need to go to is the middle one. Once you reach the location, you’ll notice a sleeping dragon. You don’t need to fight this mini-boss, as you can get around it by crouching down. Note that there is a corpse near the dragon, and that’s the corpse we need to loot. Slowly crouch down close to the corpse and loot it to get Great Katana. It’s totally simple and easy. Personal Impressions Great Katana looks and feels great when wielded. I knew this weapon would resonate with me the first time I saw it, and it didn’t disappoint. All of its current moves are really refreshing. Its normal attack reminds me of Monster Hunter’s Longswords, especially when performing an upward swing. Its basic skill Overhead Stance is definitely familiar and Sekiro players will notice it immediately because it is similar to Ichimonji Combat Arts. There is no doubt that this skill hits like a truck. However, because of its long preparation time, doing this stance may be intimidating to some people. But since I go for skill, I am happy with it. Of course, if you don’t like this skill, you can always change it. Not to mention that we will see a lot of new Ashes of War in DLC area, which makes this weapon have a longer range, so I think it will be a deadly tool when playing PVP. As for damage, Great Katana hits hard at the maximum upgrade, but its slow attack speed is very obvious. When dealing with fast-moving targets or bosses, such as Maliketh, the Black Blade and others, the safest attack we can perform per opening is two or three hits. Conclusion Overall, Great Katana feels really good so far and it hasn’t been disappointed. I can’t wait to build around it, and just thinking about the different Samurai theme setups we can get from it makes me excited. So, expect me to provide an early Samurai Build in case you want to use such a build for your first play with this weapon in DLC. My major goal is to get you to master this weapon, so stay tuned. Anyway, I hope you found this quick guide useful. Of course, this is not a be-all and end-all guide for Great Katana, as we’re sure to discover more potential for this legendary weapon as time goes on. Do you think this DLC is worth trying so far? If you already own this weapon, please share your experience with us!Jun-21-2024
