Elden Ring: How About This New Great Katana Weapon In Shadow Of The Erdtree? - Locations & Personal Opinions
For a Samurai build who wants to level up quickly in the latest expansion, I prefer to prioritize finding one of the newest weapons that fits our play style, Great Katana. Many players are also looking forward to getting this weapon. If you want to get Great Katana as early as possible in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree without being spoiled, then don’t miss this guide.
In this guide, I tell you the best way to get the earliest Great Katana in the game, as spoiler-free as possible so that you can get a fresh experience before venturing into the core of DLC. At the same time, here I also provide my first impressions of Great Katana. Without further ado, let’s get started!
Great Katana Breakdown
Great Katana is a new weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree. This Heavy weapon is a sound choice for those who like to use Katana but want to stance-break more effectively and deal more damage at the same time.
Great Katana scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity, making it one of the best weapon choices for Dexterity and Arcane Builds.
In addition, this weapon comes with Ash of War: Overhead Stance. When using Ash of War, you can enter a stance that holds Katana high above your head. Normal attacks will push you forward for a downward slash, while heavy attacks will do a series of overhead slashes.
Location
To get this super cool weapon, we still need to access DLC. You need to first defeat Starscourge Radahn, then go to Mohgwyn Palace and defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood.
Once you’ve completed both of these steps, you can interact with Miquella’s Cocoon, which is located in Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, where you’ll fight Mohg, thus entering Land of Shadow and starting DLC.
Although we need to enter DLC to get this weapon, luckily, we don’t have to fight any bosses in Land of Shadow.
Once you enter DLC area, we just need to head straight to it. This is a real Godsend, as it’s not far from your first Site of Grace, Gravesite Plain.
From Gravesite Plain Site of Grace in DLC, we need to head north. To speed things up, you can ignore all the enemies you may encounter along the way. Of course, if you’re not in a hurry, you can just hack and slash around to collect some Elden Ring Runes.
Our goal is to reach a lake located just north of our current location. Now, if you look at the map, you’ll see that there are three large lakes around this area, but the one we need to go to is the middle one.
Once you reach the location, you’ll notice a sleeping dragon. You don’t need to fight this mini-boss, as you can get around it by crouching down. Note that there is a corpse near the dragon, and that’s the corpse we need to loot. Slowly crouch down close to the corpse and loot it to get Great Katana. It’s totally simple and easy.
Personal Impressions
Great Katana looks and feels great when wielded. I knew this weapon would resonate with me the first time I saw it, and it didn’t disappoint. All of its current moves are really refreshing.
Its normal attack reminds me of Monster Hunter’s Longswords, especially when performing an upward swing. Its basic skill Overhead Stance is definitely familiar and Sekiro players will notice it immediately because it is similar to Ichimonji Combat Arts. There is no doubt that this skill hits like a truck.
However, because of its long preparation time, doing this stance may be intimidating to some people. But since I go for skill, I am happy with it. Of course, if you don’t like this skill, you can always change it.
Not to mention that we will see a lot of new Ashes of War in DLC area, which makes this weapon have a longer range, so I think it will be a deadly tool when playing PVP.
As for damage, Great Katana hits hard at the maximum upgrade, but its slow attack speed is very obvious. When dealing with fast-moving targets or bosses, such as Maliketh, the Black Blade and others, the safest attack we can perform per opening is two or three hits.
Conclusion
Overall, Great Katana feels really good so far and it hasn’t been disappointed. I can’t wait to build around it, and just thinking about the different Samurai theme setups we can get from it makes me excited.
So, expect me to provide an early Samurai Build in case you want to use such a build for your first play with this weapon in DLC. My major goal is to get you to master this weapon, so stay tuned.
Anyway, I hope you found this quick guide useful. Of course, this is not a be-all and end-all guide for Great Katana, as we’re sure to discover more potential for this legendary weapon as time goes on. Do you think this DLC is worth trying so far? If you already own this weapon, please share your experience with us!

Elden Ring DLC: The Weakene ...
The latest update Elden Ring 1.14 changes the difficulty of the last boss Promised Consort Radahn, making this previously daunting boss accompanied with overwhelming easier to challenge and conquer. As we all know, FromSoftware is known for its challenging boss fights like Artorias, Nameless King, and Orphan of Kos, but the latest DLC is even more challenging, and the terrifying difficulty has refused mountains rookies and gain much complaints among fans. Therefore, here comes the chance for those medium players who are terrified by its horrible challenge difficulty, and if you are interested in fighting strangers, patch 1.14 also has provided some PvP and general balance adjustments for you. However, most players are not satisfied with the adjustment of the difficulty of the final boss challenge, but are more annoyed because they think it is a betrayal of the original intention of the game. The Details Of Update 1.14 The latest update has made some changes to PvP-exclusive balance adjustments in the aspects of equipment and skills. When fighting with other players, the damage that Backhand Blades, Spears, and Pata deal will be decreased. And headshot damage animation will not appear when using Spread Crossbow to attack another players as well. Here are some major updates and bug fixes for your reference: Adjusted the action pattern and attack moves when the battle kicks off. Decreased the damage of some attacks. Decreased stamina damage of some attacks. Decreased the attack range of some non-weapon-based attacks. Enhanced the visibility of some attack effects. As to a nightmare for many players to deal with, Promised Consort Radahn’s combat capabilities have also been nerfed significantly. And noticeably enhance the performance of some specific equipments like swords and spells which has disappointed players in the previous battles. Now comes the chance to embrace those Elden Ring Items to enhance your strength. And boss Rellana may be the biggest winner of this update, whose complete suite of equipment has appropriately been buffed to the moon. The Weakened Promised Consort Radahn Has Invited Complaints Promised Consort Radahn has been a nightmare for many players in the first stage, not to mention the addition of Miquella in the later phrase. This directly makes normal battles more crazy and difficult. But as the hardest boss to deal with in the entire game, many players would rather fail in battle after battle than see Radahn weakened, because this would make the challenge meaningless, which contributes to the oldest argument about Souls games in existence. This complaint is mainly concentrated among those Souls veterans, who believe in the principle of continuing to challenge and become worthy after repeated failures. According to the feedback of a player, as a Souls veteran with more than ten years of experience, he could almost always kill those powerful bosses with one hit in the early journey of DLC with the help of a well-optimized bleed build whose level is more than 400. He took invading other players as fun and said he couldn’t remember the last time he failed. Then it was such a powerful player who was beaten and fled by this boss when he came up against the reborn Radahn at the very end. Although indulging in endless depression and loss at the beginning, he was finally inspired to make enough preparation for claiming a victory next time, such as to collect some of Scadutree Fragments. In the process of careful planning for a normal battle, he got endless satisfaction. However, this satisfaction is deprived by the weaken of Radahn. This made the battle lose its original meaning. This view is supported by most game fans. The Significance To Make Preparation For Fighting Last Boss In addition to the challenge significance mentioned above, it is also necessary to consider the setting of the entire game. It is designed to collect more Scadutree Fragments scattered all over the map to help defeat the ultimate boss. Because this increases your exploration journey, and you will get to know what’s happened to Miquella and why Shadowlands are designed like this. So many revelations hide in DLC are waiting for you to disclose and many of them are jaw-dropping. Along the way to discover Scadutree Fragments, St. Trina's quest and the unbelievable story that happened in Cathedral of Manus Metyr will be revealed, the truth about Mohg be disclosed, and Marika’s childhood village be found. These fascinating stories and settings are also the meaning of the normal game, not just simply defeating a boss. Finally, when Scadutree Fragments have reached its perfect states, and burden the plea of St. Trina’s with a new Katana in your hands, it is the death of Promised Consort Radahn. Because many players think that this weakening betrays the original intention of the game, because players will most likely skip the step of collecting Scadutree Fragments and kill the last boss directly, and also miss the very exciting plot in the journey. The above is about the weakening of Promised Consort Radahn and the discussion caused by it. And you can enter iGMeet discord to get more updated news of the game together with gifts that will be distributed in Giveaway channel. Thank you for reading.Sep-13-2024

Elden Ring DLC: How To Choo ...
Since the launch of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, it has been rated as the most difficult DLC in history by many players: some extremely difficult bosses and dazzling combat mechanisms make them feel that this game is too challenging. But there is a solution. You need to learn some combat skills and item selection skills. In combat, the most important thing is to ensure that your health is always within a safe range, and the safest thing is to increase your maximum health. Usually, the higher your maximum health, the stronger your ability to survive enemy attack spells and projectiles, and you also have a lot of room for error. In Shadow of the Erdtree, you are provided with a lot of items that can increase your maximum health, such as armor and talismans. This guide will introduce you to several best options. You can choose one or more to combine according to your usage habits or game style. Come and take a look! Crimson Amber Medallion +3 You can find 4 Crimson Amber Medallions in the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The default version can increase your maximum health by 6%, followed by 7% and 8%, and the most powerful +3 version can directly increase it by 10%. This is far beyond the reach of many armors, and this talisman, unlike Great Runes, has no drawbacks or caveats, making it the best choice for your build when facing enemies that can be hard hit you. But it should be noted that Crimson Amber Medallion +3 can only be found in the DLC. You can go to Fog Rift Catacombs and defeat Death Knight boss and then find it in its loot. If you just want this talisman as a supplement to your build, you can look for Crimson Amber Medallion +2 in Ashen Capital Leyndell in the base game, which is enough. Morgott’s Great Rune Of all Elden Ring Items that increase your maximum health, Morgott’s Great Rune is the clear winner, as it increases your health by 25%. This means that when you’re fighting a long battle with an enemy, your high health will give you more chances to defeat them, and it will also make it more likely that you’ll get the final Elden Ring Runes bonus. But it should be noted that this bonus is ideal when you have other health-increasing buffs, equipment, and spells in your build. If you focus your entire build on health before a fight, you’ll be invincible. Also, like the other Great Runes, Morgott’s Great Rune requires a Rune Arc before each activation, which can be a bit cumbersome, but if you think about the benefits that Morgott’s Great Rune brings to you, I believe you’ll understand its importance. Erdtree’s Favor +2 Although Erdtree’s Favor +2 only provides you with a 4% increase in maximum health, it doesn’t seem to be outstanding, but that’s not the point. This talisman also grants you an extra 10% Stamina and 8% Equip Load. These bonuses make it a versatile and valuable talisman for a wide range of builds. You can combine Erdtree’s Favor +2 with Radahn’s Great Rune to get a significant boost to both Health and Stamina. Best of all, it weighs only 1.5, making it lighter than regular armor, making it very easy to equip. You’ll find a large courtyard in Ashen Capital Leyndell, and within it is a tree guarded by three Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirits. The Erdtree’s Favor +2 is in that tree. If you don’t want to fight the little monsters, you can just run up to this talisman and run away immediately. If you want to farm some Elden Ring Runes here, you can do so as the Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirits will also drop these rewards. Radahn’s Great Rune Among Runes can be equipped, Radahn’s Great Rune is the most powerful and a favorite among high-level players - not only does it increase your health by 15%, it also increases your Stamina by 15%. This is why you can use it in conjunction with Erdtree’s Favor +2 talisman, which together will significantly increase these key attributes. Like Morgott’s Great Rune, you need to use a Rune Arc before using Radahn’s Great Rune. Radahn’s Great Rune is one trophy you get from the battle against Starscourge Radahn in Caelid, which is also one of the most challenging missions in the DLC, as you need to navigate a very dangerous platform to reach the top of the arena. Fire Knight Helm Fire Knight Helm first appeared in Elden Ring DLC, and is one of the few armor pieces in the base game and DLC that directly increases your total health. It gives you 2% more max health, plus 5% more Stamina and 4% more Equip Load, making it a versatile Elden Ring Item. Compared to the previous talismans, Fire Knight Helm also provides you with a solid protection - strong resistance to physical and fire damage. If you want an item that can both protect you and increase key attributes, Fire Knight Helm is the best. And compared to the previous items, Fire Knight Helm is a little more difficult to obtain, requiring you to challenge Fire Knights in Shadow Keep repeatedly until one of them drops it. But you can also get other parts of Fire Knight Armor Set from it, which is also very useful. The above are the items in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC that can increase your maximum health and enhance your survivability. If you have better options, you are welcome to share them with many players in iGMeet Discord. I wish you a merry game in this interesting game!Sep-18-2024

Elden Ring: The Best Route ...
Bonny Gaol is one of the optional mini-dungeons you’ll encounter when you begin your Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree journey. It’s tucked away in the secluded area of Scadu Altus and is a tough nut to crack. However, just like the other gaols, Bonny Gaol is still a dungeon worth exploring because there’s some really nice loot and amazing rewards waiting to be collected at the end of the quest. One of the great loot you can find at Bonny Gaol is Night Armor Set, which is the same set of armor worn by Jolan, the main NPC in DLC. In this guide, let’s take a look at Bonny Gaol location, a full walkthrough for completing the dungeon, including where to get Armor of Night Set, Shield of Night, Hefty Cracked Pot, Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes, and Stalwart Horn Charm +2. Getting To Bonny Gaol First, we’ll cover how to get to Bonny Gaol, starting at Moorth Ruins Site of Grace in Scadu Altus. From there, we’ll move a short distance east and a little south to find a ramshackle entrance to the ruins below. We’ll have to be careful when entering the ruins, as it’s possible to die from fall damage. Note that there’s still some value in the insignificant items in the ruins, so feel free to explore. Not only can you enrich your build with these items, but you can also trade them with other players for additional Elden Ring Runes, killing two birds with one stone. Once we get close to the bottom of the ruins, there should be a tunnel leading southeast, out of the ruins, to Bonny Village Site of Grace. Bonny Gaol isn’t far away. To get there, head south from Bonny Village Site of Grace and cross the wooden bridge. Be careful, there are Spider Scorpions on the way to Gaol, but there aren’t actually any in Gaol. How To Complete Bonny Gaol? This dungeon is relatively short, but it does require a little backtracking and trickery. Hefty Cracked Pot Going down the main path, we’ll first drop two hanging jars to reach a secluded area. As we head to the southeast room, be careful of the jumping Jar Innards. New enemies added to Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. These weird creatures are contained in giant jars. Keep an eye out, you’ll also find a Hefty Cracked Pot here. The enemies here are annoying, though, so we should deal with them first before going to the sigil to the west and standing on it. It should glow and summon the hanging jars to come down. But if it doesn’t work the first time, jump on it and these jars will take us back to the top floor, and from there we can follow the path to the west. Stalwart Horn Charm +2 Behind the door that needs to be opened, there is a chute that we can jump down. Once down, we’ll move east and go through the tunnel system. At this point, keep an eye out for the annoying corpse oozes on the ceiling. At the end of this path, there is a ladder that we can climb to get Stalwart Horn Charm +2. Armor Of Night Set & Shield Of Night We will then retrace the previous route back to the tunnel system. This time, we will move a short distance west and then turn south. We can run along this path the rest of the way out of the tunnel system. Continuing forward, we can pick up Lost Ashes of War on the way, but nothing else of note. Once we exit a large cave, we will go west, down a staircase and through a door. After going through another door that needs to be opened again, we will jump onto the hanging pot to the north, but be sure to stay on it as it descends. If it doesn’t start to rise on its own, jump on it. It should lead us to a higher area where Armor of Night Set can be found. We will then also need to keep an eye out for Jar Innards that swoop in as we follow the southern passage to get Shield of Night. Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes Next, we need to enter the cave again and go down the slope to the west room where there is an enemy sitting on a chair. We then jump down the cave and land in a river of blood. Go west towards a tunnel full of slime enemies. Then turn south to another tunnel and jump down at the end. Continue running east past Living Jars and then drop down to another area full of hanging jars. Go north past the enemies and eventually reach a platform full of black shadow enemies. Go west until a jar elevator appears and take it to the bridge full of enemies below. Once you defeat or ignore them, you will drop down to the lower platform. Going west, we can find a fogged gate. Behind it is Curseblade Labirith boss fight from Elden Ring. It moves the same as the one seen when the player enters Land of Shadow, except that Curseblade Labirith will release black shadows and become invisible. Therefore, it is recommended that you try to stay in the corner and lure the boss to come to you and show up. Once you defeat it, you will get its Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes as a reward. The above is the complete route to complete Bonny Gaol dungeon. Although this is just an optional dungeon and will not have a big impact on your major story, the rewards you can get from completing it are definitely worth your effort! Come and try it out!Jul-14-2024

Elden Ring: These Staffs Wi ...
With the release of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, Sorceries and magic have returned in force, and players have discovered that there are a ton of spells and staffs to use. Each staff has something that sets them apart, and each has a different purpose. Some staffs enhance certain spells, while others have incredible scaling. For example, some staffs can cause bleed damage and scarlet rot effects on enemies. Choosing the right staff in the game can make your quest or combat much easier. Glintstone Staff Glintstone Staff is a great starting Prisoner staff, as it only requires regular smithing stones to upgrade this Elden Ring Items, and Intelligence is something you need to focus on. While the Glintstone Staff doesn’t have any skills or associated buffs, it’s a great all-around choice for players who are just getting started with Prisoner in Elden Ring. This magic root is used by Prisoner by default, but can also be picked up by Noble Sorcerer enemies in Caria Manor later in the game. Astrologer’s Staff Among the first class staffs, Astrologer’s Staff is arguably the best for players who want to build a pure magic build early on. Its Intelligence stat is higher than Glintstone Staff overall, and it improves more with each upgrade. Glintstone Staff is more suitable for flexible builds, while Astrologer’s Staff is more suitable for full magic builds. If you’ve been looking for a handy staff, you can’t miss Astrologer’s Staff. It can be used to maximize your efficiency for a large part of your introductory period, and its high Intelligence stat can make you feel accomplished when fighting against early monsters. Demi-Human Queen’s Staff This staff will probably be the first major upgrade for most sorcerers in Elden Ring. Demi-Human Queen’s Staff can be obtained by defeating a small boss in Demi-Human Forest Ruins. However, it is not without its shortcomings. Its expansion is weak, so you can still use Astrologer’s Staff mentioned above in the early game. When your other attributes are a bit higher, you can use it to add a little magic to your build. Crystal Staff In Academy Crystal Cave, you can find the staff behind the fake wall in front of the boss’s door. If you still can’t see it, you can try to go a little further to the right room. Although it only provides a 10% increase in Crystalian Sorceries, this increase can often mean a completely different result - life or death? Unlike Rotten Crystal Staff, the basic Crystal Staff will not cause any accumulation when used as a melee weapon. But it can’t help but look beautiful - the whole body looks like a sapphire. But it is not a beautiful waste at all, and it can make exploration easier for you with eight Strength and a staggering forty-eight Intelligence. Gelmir Glintstone Staff Like other aspects of Elden Ring, it allows players to build their own characters specifically to showcase their desired fighting style. Among high-level players, most focus on Faith and Intelligence. For mages who want to replicate the high-level player path, Gelmir Glintstone Staff will be their most powerful weapon, as it increases the effectiveness of lava-centric spells by 15%. To get it, you need money to go to Volcano Manor to find Man-Serpent Sorcerer, and you also need to fight it in the throne room. After succeeding, you will find Gelmir Glintstone Staff on the ground. Staff Of Loss Many Elden Ring players will consider what is more effective? Is it a powerful attack that the enemy can see and avoid? Or a smaller damage that is unpredictable? Staff Of Loss can solve your second half of the problem, both casting spells that make the enemy unpredictable and creating a lot of damage. Elden Ring has two specific Invisibility Sorceries, namely Night Shard and Night Comet. So in a sense, Staff Of Loss is closely related to both spells. Staff Of Loss can be found on a corpse located in Town of Sorcery, Sellia. This staff increases the effectiveness of both spells by 30%, but in the dual-wielding New Game+ build this can be increased to 60%! Carian Glintstone Staff In the game, staff wielders are often seen as more passive combatants, as they seem to only be willing to face enemies from a comfortable distance and are unwilling to engage in close combat. But Carian Glintstone Staff completely breaks tradition by adding 15% power to the Carian sword sorceries, allowing you to cast Void Blade on any enemy that stands in your way. If you know Carian Study Hall’s Liurnia of Lakes, then finding Carian Glintstone Staff is very simple. It is on a corpse in the second elevator. Carian Regal Scepter For casual players who don’t want to specialize in a particular type of spell, but just want a staff that can do everything, Carian Regal Scepter is perfect for them. To get it, you need to first give Remembrance of Full Moon Queen to Enia in Roundtable Hold. After you complete this quest, you need to go to Rennala at the top of Raya Lucaria Academy inside of the library to get this Elden Ring Item. Carian Regal Scepter relies mainly on Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade, which means its attributes are also unique. So you have to be unique to use it - Intelligence must be 69 or higher. How many of these staffs have you obtained now? Have you used them to their maximum effect? I hope you have fun playing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree!Jun-27-2024
