Elder Scrolls Online: Update 40 - Endless Archives, Crafting Stations, Group Finder, and New Armor Sets
Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is gearing up for an exciting update, known as Update 40, with a host of new features and content to offer. During a recent Twitch live stream, ESO announced the first public details of this update, which promises to continue the Shadow Over Morrowind storyline for 2023. Update 40 is scheduled to be released for PC/Mac on October 30, with Xbox and PlayStation players gaining access on November 14. Here's a sneak peek into what's in store:
Endless Archive:
One of the major highlights of Update 40 is the introduction of the Endless Archive, an endless dungeon experience. What sets this dungeon apart is its accessibility, as it will be available to all players as a base game update. ESO Plus members will enjoy additional bonuses in this dungeon. The Endless Archive can be tackled solo, with a friend, or alongside a companion. With over 60 unique bosses drawn from various corners of Tamriel, each run promises a different challenge. Importantly, there are no normal or veteran versions of the Endless Archive, and it's not a timed event. Leaderboards will be available for both solo and duo players.
Grand Master Crafting Stations:
Crafting in ESO is getting a significant quality-of-life upgrade with Update 40. Grand Master Crafting Stations will make their debut, simplifying the crafting station system. These stations can be acquired using Writs and will consolidate the crafting process. For instance, the woodworking station can be attuned to include specific armor sets. This change aims to declutter guild halls, reducing the number of crafting stations to just four: woodworking, blacksmithing, jewelry, and clothing, in addition to the essential alchemy and enchanting stations.
Jewelry System Revamp:
The jewelry crafting system is due for an overhaul in Update 40 to bring it in line with other crafting skills. While more details are yet to be revealed, grains will be converted to platings, eliminating grains altogether. Existing inventory will be converted to the new system. Crafting writs for jewelry will also be adjusted to align with other crafting systems.
Group Finder:
ESO is introducing a new tool called the Group Finder, which will facilitate group creation. Players can post group requests for various activities, including dungeons, trials, zones, and even customizable areas. This feature aims to assist console players who lack access to certain PC addons. Additionally, it may help reduce the volume of zone chat discussions in places like Craglorn.
Archival Fortunes:
Update 40 brings a new monetary system called Archival Fortunes, integrated with the Endless Archive content. These Archival Fortunes can be earned and used alongside gold to purchase rewards from specialized vendors. The rewards may include armor sets, Tales of Tribute clues, and other enticing items. More details on these rewards are expected soon.
New Armor Sets:
While the information on new armor sets is limited to the PTS (Public Test Server) at this stage, there's a glimpse of what's to come:
- Wrathsun (Templar class): This set boosts weapon and spell damage, critical chance, and provides unique bonuses related to Dawn's Wrath abilities, adding magicka recovery and bonus damage.
- Reawakened Hierophant (Arcanist class): With a focus on maximum magicka, this set offers beneficial effects to allies based on the number of Crux you possess, including damage shields, Minor Heroism, and Major Protection.
- Soulcleaver (Nightblade class): This set enhances weapon and spell damage, maximum magicka, and significantly augments Siphoning abilities by consuming Ultimate and reducing their cost.
Tales of Tribute - Academ’s Mora:
A sneak peek reveals the name of the new Tales of Tribute deck: Academ’s Mora. While the details are scarce, players can earn fragments for this deck within the Endless Archive and purchase clues from specialized vendors using Archival Fortunes.
Elder Scrolls Online's Update 40 promises a wealth of exciting changes and additions. From the Endless Archive dungeon to simplified crafting stations, the revamp of the jewelry system, and the introduction of the Group Finder, players have much to look forward to. Additionally, the new Archival Fortunes currency and enticing armor sets will add depth to the ESO experience. As the update approaches, players can prepare for a fresh adventure in Tamriel, filled with challenges and rewards.

Elder Scrolls Online Pan-Ta ...
To celebrate Elder Scrolls Online’s 10th anniversary, the developers are launching a brand new event, Pan-Tamriel Celebration Event, which is also the first event available after entering 2025. The event has started at 10 am EST on January 23, 2025, and will last until February 4, 2025 at 10 am EST. During the event, it will be held in all areas of Tamriel! You don’t need to own any specific Chapters or DLC to participate in the event, but there are some returning collectibles that you can only get from the Impresario’s Assistant in certain DLC areas. Please come with us and enter this new event! Event Boosts In addition to the usual reward boxes, Pan-Tamriel Celebration Event offers players some great boosts, including a higher chance to get Antiquity Leads, Furnishings, and other valuables by digging in Treasure Maps. Additionally, fishing drops are carefully curated. As long as you fish the right type of hole in the right area, you’re guaranteed to get a previously uncollected Trophy Fish to complete your unfinished achievement. Finally, there’s a 100% XP boost that’s automatically applied throughout the event and can be stacked with other XP boosts. Reward Boxes Now, let’s get to those reward boxes! You can get reward boxes by killing all of the different boss monsters found throughout Tamriel. On land, there’s a chance that event boxes will drop from defeating World Bosses, Delve Bosses, Public Dungeon Bosses, and completing Incursions. Note, however, that Dolmens’ drops are from bosses, so you’ll need to be in the top 12 in terms of damage to get them, so areas like Alik’r Desert are not recommended. There’s also a cooldown between box drops from each character, so keep that in mind if you’re farming bosses back-to-back. If you’re looking for the fastest way to farm, you’ll most likely want to turn to other characters and switch between them as they take on different public dungeon bosses. For more challenging content, the final bosses in Trials, Dungeons, Arenas, and Tho’at Replicanum in the Infinite Archive all drop event boxes. But again, box drops only come from final bosses. The first box you get each day will be a gold box, which you’ll get when you open it, giving you the new, very stylish Lion Guard Captain Outfit Style Pages. In addition to your gold box, you’ll also get 3 Event Tickets (39 total during the event). You can only claim the gold box and tickets once per account per day, and the next drop of the day will be a purple box. Purple boxes mostly only contain crafting materials, but they also have a slight chance to drop ESO Gold and other items, in addition to new Style Pages. However, these purple boxes also have a chance to drop random Style Pages from the previous expansion celebration. Event Merchants Impresario’s Assistant During the event, Impresario’s Assistant will also carry these Style Pages, as well as a few other returning collectibles, but his inventory will depend on the zone you’re in when you talk to him. Morrowind: Doctrine Ordinator Style Pages, Slag Town Diver skin, Memento, and fragments from Fabricant Pet. Summerset: Evergloam Champion Style and Snowhawk Mage Outfit Style Pages, Wooden Grave-Stake Memento fragments, and Gloam Gryphon Fledgeling Pet. Northern Elsweyr: Claw-Dance Acolyte Style and Ja’zennji Siir Outfit Style Pages. Western Skyrim: Saarthal Scholar Style and Sovngarde Stalwart Style. High Isle: Oaken Order Outfit Style. Necrom: Apocrypha Expedition Outfit Style. Blackwood: Y’ffre’s Fallen-Wood Style, and pieces for a pet. In all locations, Impresario’s Assistant will also carry fragments of 2 Morphing Pets from years past, as well as 2 really awesome Morphs, Hourglass, which lets you change the time inside a house when placed, and Doomchar Plateau! Indrik Vendor Indrik Vendor will have 2 returning Indrik Morphs and fragments for 2 pets. But as if her assistants didn’t already have so much to spend money on. Impresario only carries the new Lion Guard Captain Outfit Style Pages, 3 fragments of this year’s new Morphing Pets, and the first Morphing fragments for the new Rune Extraction animation. If you were a player during last year’s Anniversary Event, you may remember the replicas she carried. Thankfully, this year, their drop rates can be increased based on other achievements you may have unlocked, but the Impresario will also be selling them for 10 tickets each. So if you’re sad about not unlocking these collectibles last year, don’t automatically jump to spending your tickets. Remember that these Style Pages are bound! If you get the corresponding replicas, their chances of dropping will increase again as you explore Tamriel. So if you’re a bit strapped for Event Tickets, give this a try. However, you can also try participating in the occasional giveaways in iGMeet Discord, where you may be able to score some of the collectibles you’ve been looking for! That’s everything you need to know about ESO Pan-Tamriel Celebration Event 2025! Whether you’re farming for those fishing achievements, treasure map clues, or bosses, hopefully everyone can enjoy such a lucrative event!Jan-26-2025

Elder Scrolls Online: Previ ...
Elder Scrolls Online Update 43 base game patch will be released on August 19th for PC/Mac and September 4th for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Before we start playing, let’s take a look at some of the highlights of this update! In Update 43, we have the opportunity to see the new Home Tours system in action, new content in the endless PVE Arena: Infinite Archive, including some other additional updates. In this guide, let’s talk about what these improvements and updates will bring to us. Home Tours The developers said that they have been deeply involved in the new Housing Feature that has been teased for a long time, which is Home Tours. They admitted that Housing Community is one of their biggest concerns. The developers hope to create something new to help players continue to grow and share their creative homes with others. This is also where Home Tours comes into play. Home Tours will be available in Activity Finder System, allowing players to easily visit other people’s homes. Players will be able to create listings for their homes and likewise visit other homes listed in Finder System. You can even assign up to three tags to your home to describe the vibe of the place. For example, when you create a listing, you could assign Sinister tag to a creepy horror house, or Cozy tag to a cozier, more relaxing house you put together. You can even assign Playful and Games tags to a home that has a fun maze or jumping puzzle. Homes listed by your friends and guild-mates through Home Tours Finder will also have recognizable symbols next to their listings. You can freely choose the house you want to visit based on these tags. Ultimately, the new Home Tours System will give everyone a platform to show the greater ESO community that they put a lot of effort into all of their homes, not just their primary home. Infinite Archive Updates Next, let’s talk about what’s new in Infinite Archive. Infinite Archive (IA for short) is an endless PVE Arena with Apocryphal theme that comes with the base game. The faster you advance in Infinite Archive, the more challenging it becomes. But you can also earn several temporary and permanent buffs, called Verses and Visions, which can help you gradually strengthen your character build. In this PVE Arena, you have the opportunity to fight various monsters from all over Tamriel, including some familiar bosses, but with new mechanics. As you take down monsters in Infinite Archive, you will also collect Archival Fortunes, an IA-specific currency that you can cash in for exquisite rewards. ESO developers have always mentioned that Infinite Archive is a mechanic that can be expanded to create new experiences, and this IA update is exactly what it needs. In Update 43, they added two new Arena types to Infinite Archive, which are based on Fire and Ice. This means that Fire Arena has fire pits that will spray lava at the player, and Ice Arena has frozen water that will freeze the player to death if they stay in it for too long. These environmental hazards will definitely challenge players. Additionally, a new Daily Quest giver will be added, and she will require you to kill Marauders or different Fabled Monsters in order to get the corresponding rewards, including the most basic ESO Gold and some rare equipment. They also added 10 new bosses from all over Tamriel as well as 8 new Verses, 10 new Visions, new Fabled Monsters, and 2 new Marauders. One of Marauders is similar to Werewolf Behemoth in March of Sacrifices Dungeon, as it has a mechanic that limits your vision by summoning fog. The other Marauder is Charging Minotaur. You can also pick up a new consumable that allows you to transform into a random avatar, such as Werewolf Behemoth, once per turn, as well as some new class sets. We won’t have to wait long to try all this new content! Other Improvements Beyond this, we also got some information about the additional improvements that will be experienced in the next patch. Mount Preview The developers have added mount preview improvements that allow you to preview all the animations of the mount, such as crouching, walking, running, and more. Luminous Ink Enhancements Luminous Ink will also be enhanced in Collections and Crown Store menus. Because in Update 43, this elusive and important Scribing material will have a new source, and we will have the opportunity to obtain Luminous Ink from Chests and Heavy Sacks. New Styles In the next patch, the developers will also add 6 new Styles, which players can obtain by spending Archival Fortunes. As we all know, Skill Styling System debuted in Gold Road Chapter, which allows players to change the appearance of skills after obtaining certain Achievements. The developers announced a preview of one of the new Skill Styles in the latest live broadcast, which changes the color of Eye Of The Storm Destruction Staff from fiery red to glowing purple. This does not change the actual effect of the skill, but it will definitely make your character cool! Guild Stores Another new feature is about Guild Stores. The arrival of this feature saves you from having to re-sort your guilds every time you enter Guild Bank menu to enter the only Guild Bank you really use. When you open this menu, you’ll see the last Guild Store you used, as this will be remembered for a few seconds after you click on this point. Curated Item Set Drops The last update is that there will be more Curated Item Set drops in the game. Curated in this context is a term used to describe the fact that gear that you haven’t collected yet is more likely to drop for you. It’s an oversimplification, but it’s basically what it is, and it applies to most item sources. It will now apply to PvP Bags, Trial Reward Coffers, and Monster Shoulder Coffers. This is big news! I’m really glad they finally went ahead and implemented this so that we don’t have to waste our Undaunted Keys just to get a Monster Set Shoulder with the correct weight we need. Final Thoughts That’s it for the major additions in ESO Update 43. What are your initial thoughts given everything you’ve seen? Probably for a lot of players who play Housing on PC, the new Housing feature is a bit disappointing. Because there is already a very popular add-on that does essentially the same thing, this add-on is called EHT or Essential Housing Tools. One of its many features is that it allows you to view other players’ homes. However, the introduction of the new Home Tours System means that you can expect some new gameplay with it at its core. Unfortunately, some people have expressed concerns about this new Housing feature. They worry that other players will be able to copy their housing creations more easily, and things like this are a pretty pressing issue in the veteran Housing Community. Regardless, you can’t deny the fact that this will make it easier for you to share your housing creations with others. Not only will this inspire other players, but it will also promote fun gameplay as players can explore a variety of creative homes. What do you think of this update? See you next time!Aug-16-2024

Elder Scrolls Online: These ...
Welcome, fellow players! This time, I'll be reviewing some of the tank-related changes that appear in the upcoming Gold Road chapter in the patch notes of Elder Scrolls Online. Let me start by telling you that the Necromancer's Restoring Tether ability is receiving a 14% healing boost, aiming to align it more closely with similar healing abilities according to ESO spreadsheets. Blood Magic The Sorcerer's Blood Magic also receives a significant buff. Previously, this passive restored 10% of max HP whenever you dealt damage with a dark magic ability. From a tank's perspective, this meant you'd only proc Crystal Weapon, and then your next 2 light attacks would heal you for 10% of max HP. Now, it triggers whenever you cast a non-free dark magic ability. While it's a slight nerf for Crystal Weapon as it only procs once per cast instead of twice, you'll now also heal for 10% whenever you cast Firebrand, Shout, Dark Deal, and Daedric Refuge, which adds up, especially since Dark Deal and Vibrant Shroud already provide healing. Ayleid Refuge Let's begin with a discussion on sets, starting with the Ayleid Refuge. This heavy set, obtainable from Overland in West Wield, offers an intriguing perk: an 11% damage reduction for 3 seconds after blocking an attack. It's worth noting that tanks typically shy away from defensive item sets, largely because of the lack of compelling options in this category. However, the Ayleid Refuge shows some promise, albeit modest. While additional damage mitigation against blockable attacks may seem redundant, the set's potential lies in its ability to mitigate damage from other sources, such as DoT effects, following a successful block. Therefore, while it may not revolutionize tanking strategies, it could still prove beneficial in certain encounters. Lucent Echoes The next set I'll introduce is Lucent Echoes, originating from the new trial Lucent Citadel. Above 50% HP, it boosts allies' critical damage and healing by 11%. Below 50% HP, it grants a hefty 20% damage mitigation buff to the wearer. It's also essential to prepare for some ESO Gold in advance before the new chapter. This set may replace the Elemental Catalyst in trial compositions. While its crit damage bonus is slightly lower than Elemental Catalyst's potential 15%, it's manageable since some groups only require crit damage from 2 elements. With Lucent Echoes, we're at 101% of the crit damage cap of 125%. Arcanists reach 12% from Fated Fortune passive, while Wardens achieve similar values with 3 Animal Companions abilities. Templars and Nightblades gain 10% crit damage from class passives, reaching the cap with 7 medium pieces. Xoryn's Masterpiece Everything discussed regarding the replacement of the Elemental Catalyst remains valid. Xoryn's Masterpiece, the light healer set from the new trial, is unlikely to be utilized on tanks, but I included it for consideration as fitting support sets in team compositions is a collaborative effort. While it may occasionally land on a tank, its primary function is to grant 1,667 max stamina and magicka to all allies within 28 meters, equivalent to 158 weapon and spell damage. This makes it a weaker version of the Perfected Vestment of Olorime. Rourken Steamguards Next, let's discuss the Rourken Steamguards. While they might initially seem useless, the concept behind them was fascinating, despite their poor execution. These Mythic gloves introduce a Parrying mechanic to blocking, rewarding players for raising their block right before an attack hits. Ideally, this mechanic would be an innate part of ESO combat rather than limited to a Mythic item. However, the issue lies because this Mythic only grants increased damage mitigation for a brief period. At that point, it seems more efficient to dodge the attack entirely. A successful Parrying mechanic with Mythic should offer additional benefits, such as resource restoration, buffs, or enemy debuffs, rather than just providing a temporary damage reduction. The 10-second cooldown further diminishes its effectiveness, as players would need to refrain from blocking for a significant period.Apr-22-2024

Impresario - The Event Store: The Impresario is a central figure in the Undaunted Celebration Event. Players can find the Impresario at several locations, including Vulkhel Guard, Daggerfall, or Davon's Watch.
