Elden Ring: The Best Strategies For Building Great Stars In Shadow Of The Erdtree
Achieving immortality in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is more possible than you might expect. And Great Stars are one of the ideal tools to achieve this goal. This unique weapon restores your health with each use. Not only does it deal massive damage if used properly, it can also help keep your Tarnished away from death.
The best thing about this weapon is that it motivates players to attack aggressively when appropriate, or to choose an Ash of War that can attack in rapid succession. Here is a detailed guide on how to build this pointy hammer.
Pros And Cons Of Great Stars
Great Star is a unique Great Hammer that restores 1% of your max HP with each attack. While the basic Great Hammer move can be a bit boring because of its slow swing and limited vertical tap range, its heavy attacks hit in a large arc, and any Ash of War attached to this weapon can also trigger its healing effect. The limited range of the vertical light swings can be a little annoying, but once you get used to where they land, these attacks are still fast enough to hit most opponents.
Great Stars heal you for 1% of your max HP with each hit. Any Ash of War equipped with this weapon also triggers its healing effect. While the vertical light swings are limited, once you get used to where these attacks land, you’ll find that they come out fast enough to hit most enemies.
This weapon has two major features: First, players can find two of the same weapon in the same game, making it ideal for dual-wielding (powerstancing) strategies, as players can get double the healing and status effect build-up. Second, it is the only Great Hammer that inflicts Bleed on enemies.
In combat, combined with Raptor’s Black Feathers and Claw Talisman, players can quickly defeat powerful enemies. In addition, because of its inherent bleeding effect, it can be used with any elemental effect without losing its bleeding properties.
Given the many advantages of Great Stars, this weapon has become an ideal choice for players who pursue efficient combat and resource management. On this basis, using Elden Ring Runes to further optimize your character build can significantly improve your gaming experience and combat efficiency. Best Shields With Great Stars
While powerstancing can effectively enhance healing and status effects, using a shield in the off-hand to block attacks is also an effective strategy for use with Great Stars. The core of this strategy is to choose a large shield or a shield with chief defense and excellent attributes to resist enemy attacks. No matter how many times you suffer damage during blocking, you can restore your health by counterattacking.
Great Shields are preferred for this strategy, as you can avoid taking too much damage with your shield, and the little health you lose can be easily restored with Great Stars. Medium Shields are also a good choice if you’re willing to take a more aggressive approach when healing is needed.
For specific shields to consider, Fingerprint Stone Shield and the more easily available DLC-cousin, Verdigris Greatshield are both great choices, as they have high guard boost and 100% physical resistance.
Among Medium Shields, Brass Shield and Wolf Crest Shield are very close to Great Shields, both of which provide high Guard Boost and 100% physical resistance, meaning you can defend yourself against almost unlimited physical attacks.
Alternatively, Carian Knight’s Shield with a Greatshield Talisman also performs well when used, and is particularly good at blocking Holy and Magic attacks, although its modest defense boost can sometimes limit the shield’s performance.
Best Ashes Of War And Infusions With Great Stars
Ashes Of War
- Ash of War: Prelate’s Charge
- Ash of War: Wild Strikes
- Ash of War: Chilling Mist
- Ash of War: Cragblade
Infusions
- Cold
- Heavy
- Blood
Since Great Stars have the innate bleed and passive healing, you should use three different infusions in your build, including Bleed, Cold, or Heavy for raw damage. For Ashes of War, you want anything that can hit multiple times to get as much healing as possible. Since you already benefit from fast, repeated attacks, applying status effects like Cold or Bleed will also fit perfectly into your build.
Cold builds will use Cold infusion, and use Cragblade or Chilling Mist for Ashes of War. With Chilling Mist, you can heal yourself with each attack; while Cragblade provides a steady medium damage output.
Additionally, Frostbite triggers to deal 10% damage based on the target’s maximum health (7% for boss enemies), and also increases the target’s damage taken by 20%. When used in conjunction with Great Stars, these abilities combine to significantly increase the weapon’s overall damage output.
Bleed builds will feature either Blood or Heavy infusion, with either Wild Strikes or Cragblade as Ashes of War. Blood is the better choice if you don’t invest more points in Strength than is necessary to equip the weapon.
However, if you’re looking to give your swings more power and rely solely on Hemorrage triggers for the extra damage and all the benefits it brings, Heavy infusion is a better choice. Regardless of which infusion you choose, White Mask, Blood God’s Exultation, and Bloodflame Flame Blade are key damage-boosting items that can take your damage output from mediocre to devastating enough to destroy average foot soldiers and demigods alike.
Best Stats With Great Stars
Ideally, you should focus on Strength to maximize your damage output, or, if you want to maximize bloodloss damage, then you should focus on Arcane. To ensure that each swing deals maximum damage, reaching 80 Strength is ideal.
With Bleed builds, you’ll want around 45 to 50 points of Arcane to reach the softcap. Beyond that, you can allocate additional points to Strength, Vigor, and Endurance.
So embark on your journey with Great Stars and let its power guide you through the challenges of Shadow of the Erdtree in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring DLC: How To Choo ...
In Elden Ring, different weights of Armor are divided into different levels, and each level has a series of armors with unique functions. The advantage of Heavy armor is that it can provide high damage negation and resistance. Players can choose to obtain many heavy armor sets, but not all heavier weight armor has better performance. Here are the heaviest armor sets you can consider when looking for solid protection. 11. Banished Knight Set It is a heavy armor set known for its excellent defensive capabilities. It is moderately heavy, so players don’t need to invest too much stats in endurance to wear it. Although this set weighs less than Lionel’s set, it can provide higher physical damage negation. Players in Elden Ring can drop fragments of this set and a certain number of Elden Ring Runes by defeating the extremely dangerous Banished Knights in the game multiple times. 10. General Radahn Set Radahn’s unique appearance makes him leave a deep impression in the game. By wearing General Radahn’s gear, players can emulate him. General Radahn Set is not only excellent in terms of practicality, but also in terms of defense and appearance. It has excellent durability and can effectively resist Hemorrhage and Frostbite. This armor set is slightly heavier than Banished Armor set and provides higher defense, but reduces some movement speed. 9. Gaius Set Gaius Set is challenging to obtain. Players need to defeat Commander Gaius in DLC. Although Gaius Set is relatively light, it has excellent durability and defense, especially against Slash and Piercing attacks. Equipping this set requires some points in endurance and players need to fight a warrior. 8. Tree Sentinel Set Many players have died fighting Tree Sentinels when exploring The Lands Between in the early game. Now players can obtain golden armor worn by Tree Sentinels. This golden armor has excellent physical and magical defense. To obtain this armor, players need to successfully destroy three chariots in Auriza Hero’s Grave, which is definitely worth the effort. 7. Veteran’s Set Veteran’s Set is highly favored by players for its excellent poise in its weight class. Veteran’s Set is worn by Commander Niall, the veteran soldier of Sol. Compared with other sets with similar appearances, Veteran’s Set has shown superior performance in many aspects. 6. Lionel’s Set Lionel’s Set may not be everyone’s first choice based on its appearance. However, this set of equipment is worth much more than its appearance. Lionel’s Set shows extremely high poise, which can help players resist enemy attacks. Lionel’s Set is very suitable for players who like close combat. It is not only durable but also enhances the player’s combat advantage. In addition, Lionel’s Set has good magical defense. 5. Omen Set Omen Set may look unpleasant, but it’s actually quite useful. It’s available after defeating Dung Eater in Subterrarean Shunning Grounds at Leyndall Royal Capital. Omen Set increases the damage of both Omen Bairn and Regal Omen Bairn by 5%. But if players can look past its cosmetic flaws, it’s a very practical choice. 4. Solitude Set Solitude Set is available after defeating Blackgaol Knight in the early stages of DLC. This armor set offers excellent defensive capabilities. It has the highest Focus resistance in the game, making it more effective against attacks that inflict sleep or madness. In addition, Solitude Set is also very stylish in terms of appearance. 3. Fire Prelate Set Fire Prelate Set can be a lifesaver for players in some tough times. It has very good defensive stats, especially protection against fire. Fire Prelate Set also has excellent physical and magical damage negation properties. With these sturdy properties, players wearing Fire Prelate Set can gain a clear advantage against both gods and other players. 2. Verdigris Armor Set Verdigris Armor Set raises the standard of armor in Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to a new level, even surpassing Bull-Goat set to become one of the best choices for heavyweight armor in the game. With 100 poise and great defensive stats, it focuses mainly on enhancing immunity and robustness, and performs well in resisting slash attacks. 1. Bull Goat Set Bull Goat set is one of the players’ excellent choices of defending against enemy attacks. However, it is also the heaviest armor in the game. With its excellent resistance to physical and magical damage, Bull Goat set creates an impenetrable line of defense between players and enemies. The set is adorned with a pair of massive horns and has a massive poise of 99.99, allowing it to withstand the most powerful attacks. Bull Goat Set has the highest poise and physical defense properties of all the armor in the game. Although the player’s movement speed will be limited when wearing it, you will appreciate the protection this armor provides when facing the challenges in The Lands Between. Although heavy armor will limit the player’s movement speed, the advantages they provide in terms of damage reduction and resistance are often worth this sacrifice. Therefore, choosing a heavy armor set that suits you will help players survive the treacherous environment of The Lands Between. Elden Ring DLC: How To Use ...
In Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC, Tarnished can finally use martial arts to fight enemies, as two new Hand-to-Hand style weapons have been added - Dryleaf Arts and Dane’s Footwork. This is excellent news for players who like to use Monk, because with the blessing of these two weapons, Monk Class will be more lethal. But before getting these two powerful weapons, you need to go through some challenges and tasks first. These tasks and challenges are not too difficult, and you can explore them on your own, but if you follow this guide, I believe you will get Dryleaf Arts and Dane’s Footwork more easily. Additionally, this guide will show you the best builds for Dryleaf Arts and Dane’s Footwork. How To Get Dryleaf Arts? When you enter the DLC, you will find yourself in Scadu Altus region, which is very convenient. What you need to do now is to find and go to Highroad Cross Site of Grace in Scadu Altus region, where you will find a sign that says May the Best Win, and a note called Monk’s Missive. These two messages will lead you east to Moorth Ruins, and after arriving at Moorth Ruins Site of Grace, you will find a boss you need to fight - Dryleaf Dane. You can use May the Best Win sign you just picked up when fighting it, and it will use martial arts and Holy magic on you. At this time, be careful of its Palm Blast skill, because it will kill you immediately if you are not careful. After you defeat it with high calmness and flexible mobility, you will get Dryleaf Arts and Dane’s Hat dropped from its body. Read More: How To Defeat Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame In Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC? - A Recommended Guide How To Get Dane’s Footwork? Unlike Dryleaf Arts, Dane’s Footwork is available only after you’ve completed most of Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, as it can only be found in the penultimate boss fight of the entire DLC. In this fight, you’ll face Miquella’s Followers, mainly Needle Knight Leda and Dryleaf Dane, who you’ve already fought before. Other bosses will appear after you’ve completed a quest or reached a certain level of progress. Besides picking up Dane’s Footwork in this fight against both bosses, you can also take their gear and numerous Elden Ring Runes directly after they’ve been defeated. The skills and damage types used by Dryleaf Dane in this fight are similar to the previous one, except that the previous Dryleaf Arts are replaced by Dane’s Footwork, which is not important. What needs to be noted here is Needle Knight Leda’s Needle Piercer skill, which is likely to cause unexpected damage to you when you’re not prepared. If you feel you’re having a hard time in this fight, you can use Pureblood Knight Ansbach’s summons to help you so you don’t get overwhelmed by the sheer number of NPCs you have to fight. Dryleaf Arts Build The biggest advantage of these Hand-to-Hand weapons is that you can put them in your off-hand, since you can switch them to two-handed moves in certain situations anyway, so they can be put in any build. For Dryleaf Arts, which build you want to put it in depends entirely on the build you are running. For example, if you are currently running a build centered on Flame, injecting Flame Arts into it will increase Fire damage and Faith scaling. Similarly, injecting it into a build centered on Magic will increase Magic damage and Intelligence scaling. In addition to this, you can also increase the base damage of Dryleaf Arts, since most of the damage of this weapon comes from Palm Blast. Here, you can use Shard of Alexander to increase the damage of Palm Blast by 15%, or use Godfrey Icon to increase the damage of Palm Blast by 15% when charging. When using this skill, Tarnished will gain an outstanding balance, allowing it to withstand attacks while charging. For Talismans, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman helps you take less physical damage while charging, while Two-Headed Turtle Talisman helps you regenerate faster, allowing you to unleash more Palm Blasts in combat. Dane’s Footwork Build While both Hand-to-Hand weapons are excellent in terms of stat stacking, Dane’s Footwork is a bit better given its Ash of War Dryleaf Whirlwind. It strikes four times in quick succession while also increasing kick damage. This weapon is a great addition to any combo build, especially those using Arcane. As mentioned above, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman increases your own physical damage cancellation, and equipped with Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, it increases all your attacks by 13% when you get max stacks. Alternatively, you can use the new Elden Ring Item in the DLC, the Shattered Stone Talisman, which increases the effectiveness of all kick attacks by an additional 10%. Combined with your newfound martial arts skills, enjoy punching and kicking in Shadow of the Erdtree. That’s all you need to know when using these two powerful Hand-to-Hand weapons in Shadow of the Erdtree. I hope you have fun playing this DLC. If you have better ideas for the build of these two weapons, you are welcome to express your opinions in iGMeet Discord. You may also get some runes as rewards.Aug-05-2024

Elden Ring: The Best Starte ...
If you want to become the most powerful Samurai in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, then do not miss this guide. Here we will bring you Moonlight Katana Samurai Build. We will cover its play style, gear to use, best Talismans for this build, tips for using the game, and more. With this guide, you will eventually master the great power of Moonlight and have fun in the new DLC. Gameplay With Transient Moonlight, Moonlight Samurai can deal tremendous damage from both melee and ranged. The skill of releasing shockwaves, which is great for ranged attacks, however, in melee range you will deal even more damage because Katana will also hit the enemy. Moonlight Samurai has high Intelligence and Dexterity, allowing the user to perform all the most powerful magic to their liking. With this build, you will cast a lot of Stance damage and tear bosses to pieces with ease. Gear Now that the basic play style is out of the way, let’s move on to the best weapons for Moonlight Samurai. Main Weapon: Moonveil Katana Let’s start with the main weapon for Moonlight Samurai, which is without a doubt Moonveil Katana. To use it effectively, the user needs 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, and 23 Intelligence, and it scales primarily with Intelligence and Dexterity. But its best feature is the aforementioned Transient Moonlight skill, which gives the user versatility in combat. This weapon can deal with regular Unsheathe attacks with a special arching shockwave when L2+R1 is pressed. R1 Transient Moonlight is often used to deal with large groups of enemies, while pressing L2+R2 allows for an overhead Unsheathe attack with a vertical projectile, similar to Ash of War: Unsheathe. This will become your go-to skill, especially when dealing with bosses. Many times, enemies’ stances will be broken because of the massive Stance damage of this skill. Secondary Weapon: Carian Glintblade Staff Next, I decided to go with Carian Glintblade Staff as a secondary weapon, since this build is centered on Intelligence, anyway. This Staff requires 6 Strength, 22 Intelligence, and 12 Dexterity to use effectively. I chose this Staff because it boosts the strength of Glintblade Sorceries by 15%, and we’ll be using either Glintblade or Greatblade Phalanx Sorceries in this build. Of course, if you have more Elden Ring Runes budget, you can also use Azur’s Glintstone Staff, which will give you more casting time. Sorceries Speaking of Sorceries, I chose Phalanx Sorceries for more Stance damage, and it also matches up well with Moonlight Sumarai. Glintblade Phalanx Or Greatblade Phalanx Also, I recommend using either Glintblade Phalanx or Greatblade Phalanx as a secondary damage source. Both of these Sorcery will help you deal extra raw and Stance damage, which will complement your Moonveil Katana while not disrupting your attack rotation too much. Glintblade Phalanx only costs 18 FP to use, while Greatblade costs 30 FP, so this is something you’ll want to consider as well. You can use either one, it all depends on your preference. But personally, I use Glintblade Phalanx for lower FP costs, and I tend to focus on using Moonveil instead of casting Glintblade Phalanx. Terra Magica The next Sorcery on the list is Terra Magica, which casts a magic puddle or a sigil that increases magic damage by 35% for 30 seconds. All of our damage sources are magic based, so this will improve the overall damage of the build. Talismans Next, let’s get into the best Talismans for this build. Shard Of Alexander The first Talisman on the list is our Shard of Alexander. This provides a 15% increase in skill damage, especially when performing a Transient Moonlight. Magic Scorpion Charm Next up is Magic Scorpion Charm. Since we’re dealing primarily magic damage with this build, the 12% extra magic damage this amulet provides will be beneficial in exchange for the 10% increase in physical damage taken. Green Turtle Talisman The next Talisman on the list is Green Turtle Talisman, which increases Stamina recovery and is one of the go-to Talismans I use because my gameplay and strategy always revolves around ultra-aggressive gameplay and strategy, so most of the time, my Stamina is running low. So, the faster my Stamina recovers, the more damage I can do to the enemy. Carian Filigreed Crest Finally, for general use, I recommend Carian Filigreed Crest. This Talisman reduces FP cost of skills by 25%, allowing you to deal more Transient Moonlights before popping a Cerulean Tear. Stats Let’s move on to Moonlight Samurai’s stats. Starting with Vigor, it has 40 points assigned to it. If you feel like you need more HP to survive, feel free to bump it up to 45-50 since we’ll be using Godrick’s Great Rune later on, anyway. And since I’m used to Glass Cannon builds, I don’t usually invest a lot of points in Vigor. Next up is Mind, which has 30 points assigned to it since this is a build that requires FP. Constantly using Transient Moonlight while setting up buffs will deplete your FP, so I highly recommend having at least 30 points in Mind. Moving on to Endurance, it has 40 points assigned to it since the intended gameplay of Moonveil Samurai is super aggressive. You’ll be spending most of your time face-to-face with bosses, or pulling out Transient Moonlight from a distance. Personally, I deplete Endurance faster than anything when optimizing for combat, so I highly recommend having at least 40 points in Endurance. I consider Endurance to be the offensive stat in any Souls game I play, because the more stamina you have, the more damage you can do. Next Strength is at least 18, so you will use Nagakiba. Also, I recommend at least Dexterity at 60 and Mind at 75, so you can maximize the damage of Moonveil Katana and Glintblade Phalanx or any magic you want to use later. For Faith and Arcane, 0 points have been assigned to them since we don’t need these stats in this build. How To Optimize This Build? Now that stats are out of the way, let’s move on to Moonlight Samurai gameplay tips and optimization techniques. Learn 5 useful tips that will help you master this build. Utilizing Wakizashi The first tip I have for you is to prepare Wakizashi and fuse it with Ash of War: Golden Vow. Having the ability to cast Golden Vow will increase your damage by 11.5% and increase damage negation by 7.5% across the board. Optimize Your Opener The second tip on the list is to optimize your Opener. At the start of a fight, I usually cast Flask of Wondrous Physick first, get more magic and stance, then cast Golden Vow, and have my Glintblade Phalanx ready. Finally, rush the boss and start casting Transient Moonlight. During this time, try to deal as many attacks as you can, as the stance buff from physics doesn’t last. If you manage to fight off the boss, you will have a huge upper hand. Use Terra Magica Effectively The third tip on the list is to make sure you cast Terra Magica and stand on Sigil first, then use Transient Moonlight in succession. You can also do this at the melee range to deal as much damage as possible. Prepare A Katana We never know how many magic-resistant enemies DLC will throw at us, so preparing at least another Katana, such as Nagakiba, will still give you an advantage. Customize The Build The last tip on the list is to customize the build to your liking. As mentioned before, this build has access to the most powerful Sorceries in the game, so if you don’t like my personal setup, feel free to get creative. You can be a full mage with this build, as you will have high Dexterity anyway, so your cast times will be much faster. Utilizing spells such as Comet Azur or other destruction spells in the game may give you more options or variety in combat. Consider changing Staff to Azur’s Glintstone Staff if you choose to go this route. That’s it for the complete guide to building this Moonlight Katana Samurai Build. Hopefully, it helps you get off to a better start as you enter Shadow of the Erdtree!Jun-20-2024
