Elden Ring DLC: How To Successfully Get Greatsword Of Solitude From Blackgaol Knight Boss? - Tips & Strategies
In Elden Ring’s most successful Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to date, there are dozens of new bosses. Some of them require you to find them with great effort, but some will quietly meet your challenge there, and Blackgaol Knight Boss is one of them.
Although Blackgaol Knight Boss is about the same size as Tarnished, it is difficult to defeat it. You need to develop some combat strategies and learn some combat skills before the battle. In addition, the rewards, for example, Greatsword of Solitude you get after defeating Blackgaol Knight Boss are also very generous, which is worth your time.
This guide will introduce you to the various moves you will encounter when fighting Blackgaol Knight Boss and its weaknesses, so that you can develop corresponding strategies for it. Without further ado, bring your weapons and come with me!
How To Find Blackgaol Knight Boss?
Blackgaol Knight Boss is located in Western Nameless Mausoleum in the game. You need to go through the area northwest of your spawn point in the DLC, where there are Gravebird-infested and gravestone-ridden.
Alternatively, you can go southwest of Three-Path Cross site of Grace and find a tunnel near the Tower Settlement Belurat. By riding your Torrent here, you can greatly increase your exploration speed.
Eventually you will reach the westernmost entrance of Mausoleum surrounded by cliffs. Once you enter, you will encounter a staircase leading to the bottom, and at the end of the stairs is the door to the arena where you fight the Blackgaol Knight Boss. Once you step in, the battle begins.
If you are unfortunate enough to die during the battle, you will not respawn at the original Site of Grace, but at the entrance to the arena. When you’re ready, you can re-enter the arena.
But please note that if you fail the battle, you will not be rewarded with Elden Ring Runes. So before you challenge again, please make your build more powerful. The most important thing is survivability and damage ability.
Pre-Battle Preparation
With the location of Blackgaol Knight Boss solved, now you need to understand its weaknesses so that you can strengthen them. First, the armor of Blackgaol Knight Boss is very thick, so when choosing a build, you can directly abandon those that rely on melee attacks and choose some that rely on sorcery and incantations.
In addition, Blackgaol Knight Boss has a very high resistance to Bleed, Frostbite, or Scarlet Rot, so when choosing weapons, you should avoid damage from these elements. This enemy has no resistance to Magic and Lightning damage, so when choosing a class, you can choose those Sorcerers and Incantation-wielders.
In addition, if you don’t want to change builds or classes frequently, you can also directly use spells like Greatblade Phalanx, which can also cause a lot of magic damage to Blackgaol Knight Boss.
Blackgaol Knight Boss’s Moves
Now you need to know what moves Blackgaol Knight Boss will use, and how to counter them during the fight. These counter-attack strategies are just for reference, and it’s totally fine if you try to find a strategy that suits your own operation habits.
Greatsword Attacks
Blackgaol Knight Boss will attack you with its Greatsword, and each swing will have a four-hit animation. But whether it is used with one hand or two hands, you can jump to dodge it first, and then use a heavy attack on it. This will effectively prevent Blackgaol Knight from using a combination of attacks on you. If you fail to prevent it, you can hide in a corner for a while and attack again when you have a free time.
Storm Blast And Follow-Up
After swinging Greatsword, Blackgaol Knight Boss will raise it and then fire a wave of physical damage forward, and finally it will quickly dash forward and attack you. What you need to do is to dodge its physical attack wave first, and then retreat or dodge its sprint continuously.
Here you need to remind you that the final sprint attack of Blackgaol Knight Boss will not stop because of your dodge, because it can also be cast at a long distance. So inevitably, you will be injured in this move, and you may need to prepare some healing flasks for emergency use.
Crossbow Barrage
Besides Greatsword, Blackgaol Knight Boss will also use a crossbow to fight you. It will continue to shoot crossbows at you, and the frequency and speed of the shooting will become faster and faster over time. When you are at a medium or long distance from it, you can move along the side of the arena. Don’t roll or dodge, because the moment you stand up, you are likely to be hit by the crossbow and suffer a lot of damage.
Dash Slash
When Blackgaol Knight Boss uses a sword with both hands, it will also dash forward and launch a slash after attacking you several times. At this time, you can dodge to ensure your safety.
Battle Strategy
The above are just the counterattacks you need to do in front of a certain move. But before the battle, your battle strategy is also very important. For example, when Blackgaol Knight Boss is firing and reloading crossbows, it is very vulnerable, so you can attack it immediately at some medium distance.
Slowly walk to the boss at medium and long distances to avoid all the fast-firing crossbows. But it should be noted here that the avoidance mentioned here is walking forward, not just walking to the side, because this will make you fall into the barrage when you stand up.
Blackgaol Knight boss often attacks the player with weapon skills such as Blasphemous Blade, which will launch a wave of physical damage when it lowers Greatsword. It will always follow up with a charge, so be careful to avoid physical explosions and close-range attacks.
If you have trouble with any boss battle in the game, you can always go out and explore other areas to become stronger, and then come back and try again. This is the most effective strategy to defeat any boss in the game.
Blackgaol Knight Boss Rewards
After you successfully defeat Blackgaol Knight Boss in Western Nameless Mausoleum using the right strategy, you can get Greatsword of Solitude and Blackgaol Knight armor set. The armor set is a very defensive and stylish armor set. Greatsword of Solitude mentioned in the title is one of the most powerful weapons in the DLC. You can use it to replicate Blackgaol Knight Boss’s slam and charge combo in battles with other enemies.
In addition, Ash of War of Greatsword of Solitude is also very powerful, which can shoot a beam of physical damage forward. If operated properly, this beam is unavoidable for most enemies and will cause a lot of damage to them.
The above are some strategies and tips for defeating Blackgaol Knight Boss in Elden Ring DLC and obtaining Greatsword of Solitude. I hope this guide helps you overcome it. If you have questions about the build in Elden Ring, you are welcome to ask questions in iGMeet Discord. You will also have the opportunity to get some free runes on it. I wish you a happy game!

Elden Ring DLC: How To Find ...
Elden Ring features a blue NPC named Ranni the Witch. She is considered one of the most fascinating characters in Lands Between, as she grants players the ability to use Spirit Calling Bell, which gives them access to Spirit Ashes. As players continue their adventures in Liurnia of the Lakes, she will reappear with a series of quests for players to complete. To complete Ranni’s questline, players must travel to a hidden location called Nokstella, Eternal City, a hidden underground city filled with a variety of interesting enemies, mysterious lore, and fantastic scenery. However, getting there can be a hard process. This guide will detail how to reach Nokstella, Eternal City and collect the many valuable resources hidden there, such as Elden Ring Runes and items used to upgrade Spirit Ashes. Path 1 Step One: Starting Ranni’s Questline Starting Ranni, Witches’ long questline is the easiest way to get to Nokstella, Eternal City. First, you need to collect an item from Ranni. You will then need to make your way through Caria Manor, eventually defeating Royal Knight Loretta and fighting Glintstone Dragon Adula before visiting her in the tower at Ranni’s Rise in Three Sisters area of Liurnia of the Lakes. After successfully defeating the ghost of Loretta and confronting Adula, you will meet Ranni. After speaking with her, you will need to pledge your allegiance to Ranni, and only then will she give you the quest to retrieve Fingerslayer Blade from Nokron. Step Two: Getting Fingerslayer Blade For Ranni Go to Redmane Castle in the southeastern corner of Caelid to find and defeat Starscourge Radahn. Once you defeat this Scarlet Rot-infested demigod, his control over the universe will weaken, causing a comet to crash-land near Ancestral Woods, thus opening the way to the underground city of Nokstella. After making your way through the city and dealing with various skeletons, Nokstella warriors, and giant metal balls, you will fight the Mimic Tear boss. You will then open a Site of Grace called Mimic Tear at the base of a large bridge. Crossing this bridge, you will see a crack in the stone railing and a path leading down a hill. Follow the path down the hill and then up another hill and you will reach Ancestral Woods Site of Grace. You will then need to deal with Albinauric enemies as you make your way through the city. Finally, you will come to an area with another giant spherical enemy. Going out the front door of this area will take you to a path leading to another building and a series of Silver Tear enemies. The last Silver Tear in front of the building will turn into a giant. After defeating it, continue forward and find and open the chest under the giant skeleton to reveal Fingerslayer Blade. Step Three: Getting To Nokstella, Eternal City Once you have Fingerslayer Blade, give it to Ranni and you will gain access to Renna’s Rise. Climb to the top of the castle and use the portal there, and you will make it all the way to Ainsel River. First, go through Uhl Palace Ruins and then through the tunnel system that leads to Nokstella, Eternal City. Path 2 To reach Nokstella Eternal City via this path, you will need to deal with a pretty tough double boss fight. To do this, you need to return to Ancestral Woods Site of Grace, then go east, cross the road and enter a small forest area, after finding the spirit jellyfish continue to the right, you will eventually come to an area with numerous spirit jellyfish on the edge of a cliff. Keeping to the left wall will bring you to the edge of the cliff, jump down and continue along the path. You will reach another Site of Grace, continue forward into a tower and then enter Siofra Aqueduct. Go through this area all the way to the end. You will fight a Valiant Gargoyle & Valiant Gargoyle. These two fast-moving bosses are extremely difficult to deal with because of their powerful sweeping attacks and poisonous AoE. Successfully killing these bosses will grant you access to a new Site of Grace at the base of the waterfall, as well as a coffin that, when interacted with, will teleport you to Deeproot Depths. Heading north in this area, you’ll eventually find another coffin that will transport you to Ansel River Main, from where you can enter Nokstella, Eternal City. You can also reach Deeproot Depths by traversing Subterranean Shunning Grounds in Leyndell and fighting Mohg, Omen. After defeating the boss, go through a secret passage behind his reward chest to enter Deeproot Depths without having to travel to Nokron. This path will lock you into the Flame of Frenzy ending, though. Whichever path you choose to get here, be well prepared, as each step is filled with challenges and dangers. In addition, to make it easier to complete the above tasks, you can follow Giveaway channel in iGMeet discord, which will post information about Elden Ring product giveaways sometimes. Hopefully, this guide will help you get to Nokstella, Eternal City, and have fun exploring it!Sep-17-2024

Elden Ring: The Best Route ...
Bonny Gaol is one of the optional mini-dungeons you’ll encounter when you begin your Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree journey. It’s tucked away in the secluded area of Scadu Altus and is a tough nut to crack. However, just like the other gaols, Bonny Gaol is still a dungeon worth exploring because there’s some really nice loot and amazing rewards waiting to be collected at the end of the quest. One of the great loot you can find at Bonny Gaol is Night Armor Set, which is the same set of armor worn by Jolan, the main NPC in DLC. In this guide, let’s take a look at Bonny Gaol location, a full walkthrough for completing the dungeon, including where to get Armor of Night Set, Shield of Night, Hefty Cracked Pot, Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes, and Stalwart Horn Charm +2. Getting To Bonny Gaol First, we’ll cover how to get to Bonny Gaol, starting at Moorth Ruins Site of Grace in Scadu Altus. From there, we’ll move a short distance east and a little south to find a ramshackle entrance to the ruins below. We’ll have to be careful when entering the ruins, as it’s possible to die from fall damage. Note that there’s still some value in the insignificant items in the ruins, so feel free to explore. Not only can you enrich your build with these items, but you can also trade them with other players for additional Elden Ring Runes, killing two birds with one stone. Once we get close to the bottom of the ruins, there should be a tunnel leading southeast, out of the ruins, to Bonny Village Site of Grace. Bonny Gaol isn’t far away. To get there, head south from Bonny Village Site of Grace and cross the wooden bridge. Be careful, there are Spider Scorpions on the way to Gaol, but there aren’t actually any in Gaol. How To Complete Bonny Gaol? This dungeon is relatively short, but it does require a little backtracking and trickery. Hefty Cracked Pot Going down the main path, we’ll first drop two hanging jars to reach a secluded area. As we head to the southeast room, be careful of the jumping Jar Innards. New enemies added to Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. These weird creatures are contained in giant jars. Keep an eye out, you’ll also find a Hefty Cracked Pot here. The enemies here are annoying, though, so we should deal with them first before going to the sigil to the west and standing on it. It should glow and summon the hanging jars to come down. But if it doesn’t work the first time, jump on it and these jars will take us back to the top floor, and from there we can follow the path to the west. Stalwart Horn Charm +2 Behind the door that needs to be opened, there is a chute that we can jump down. Once down, we’ll move east and go through the tunnel system. At this point, keep an eye out for the annoying corpse oozes on the ceiling. At the end of this path, there is a ladder that we can climb to get Stalwart Horn Charm +2. Armor Of Night Set & Shield Of Night We will then retrace the previous route back to the tunnel system. This time, we will move a short distance west and then turn south. We can run along this path the rest of the way out of the tunnel system. Continuing forward, we can pick up Lost Ashes of War on the way, but nothing else of note. Once we exit a large cave, we will go west, down a staircase and through a door. After going through another door that needs to be opened again, we will jump onto the hanging pot to the north, but be sure to stay on it as it descends. If it doesn’t start to rise on its own, jump on it. It should lead us to a higher area where Armor of Night Set can be found. We will then also need to keep an eye out for Jar Innards that swoop in as we follow the southern passage to get Shield of Night. Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes Next, we need to enter the cave again and go down the slope to the west room where there is an enemy sitting on a chair. We then jump down the cave and land in a river of blood. Go west towards a tunnel full of slime enemies. Then turn south to another tunnel and jump down at the end. Continue running east past Living Jars and then drop down to another area full of hanging jars. Go north past the enemies and eventually reach a platform full of black shadow enemies. Go west until a jar elevator appears and take it to the bridge full of enemies below. Once you defeat or ignore them, you will drop down to the lower platform. Going west, we can find a fogged gate. Behind it is Curseblade Labirith boss fight from Elden Ring. It moves the same as the one seen when the player enters Land of Shadow, except that Curseblade Labirith will release black shadows and become invisible. Therefore, it is recommended that you try to stay in the corner and lure the boss to come to you and show up. Once you defeat it, you will get its Curseblade Meera Spirit Ashes as a reward. The above is the complete route to complete Bonny Gaol dungeon. Although this is just an optional dungeon and will not have a big impact on your major story, the rewards you can get from completing it are definitely worth your effort! Come and try it out!Jul-14-2024

Elden Ring: Do You Know How ...
Golden Hippopotamus is one of the easier bosses to find in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and has a relatively small set of attacks compared to bosses like Divine Beast Dancing Lion and Rellana. But having a few moves doesn’t mean it’s easy to defeat. During the battle, one slight mistake on your part could put you in trouble. This guide will introduce the steps to defeat Golden Hippopotamus and its location, so that you are prepared for this battle. Locations Of Golden Hippopotamus Golden Hippopotamus is located in the courtyard in the center of Shadow Keep, and you will collide with him head-on if you enter from the southern entrance of Scadu Altus. Technically, this boss is an optional boss, but defeating him will give you two Scadutree Fragments as a reward, so it’s worth fighting him. If you don’t have an NPC ally to help you, you can summon your Spirit Ash companion. Preparation Before The Battle As far as we know, this monster is weak in slashing damage and also has a poor balance. So you can break its balance by using gravity magic or strong attacks. In terms of skills, Rock Sling is recommended. Even if you miss the hitbox that provides you with a critical hit during the fight with it, you can still cause serious damage by attacking its head. In terms of weapons, swords, greatswords, and daggers are all very reliable helpers. Backhand Blade may not have such high scaling, but it provides fast strikes and unique Ash of War that allows you to dodge around the target, so you may also consider bringing it. In addition, Blackgaol Knight’s sword is also a good choice. If you are using a magic build, any Elden Ring Items that can increase Faith or Intelligence can be used for you. If you only want assists, then you need to start Hornsent’s questline first, because they can become your combat allies in this battle. In addition, you can also let your Spirit Ash summon do the work, especially if you have a Mimic Tear. With Mimic Tear at level 6 and above, and Revered Spirit Ash at level 4 and above, Golden Hippopotamus can be defeated entirely with Spirit Ash companions. Besides this, Black Knife Tiche, Nightmaiden and Swordmistress Puppets, and Swordmaster Yosh, can all make you a cup of tea in battle. It is important to note that you must make sure to upgrade your Elden Ring Items. If you run out of Smithing Stones or Glovewort, you need to return to Lands Between and get some Bell Bearings for Maiden Husks for them. Steps To Fight Golden Hippopotamus behaves similarly to Ulcerated Tree Spirits, with most of its lethal damage coming from its head and mouth. It has a long body and neck that stretches far out to prevent you from running away. On the plus side, Golden Hippopotamus is afraid of direct damage because of its enormous size, which means you have more safe attack points to fight it than other bosses, especially since you have Spirit Ash to distract it. Phase 1 Golden Hippopotamus will only attack you a few times in the initial stage, which may sound difficult to deal with, and it is, as these attacks are linked together. Golden Hippopotamus also moves faster than you think, so it is easy to be grabbed and knocked down before you can react. After you fall, it will greet you with its mouth wide open and rush towards you. This attack will knock you to the ground again, leaving you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. Even if your armor is strong, you should try to dodge forward or sideways. You can also avoid its head attacks this way. For example, if it’s running towards you with its mouth open, you can roll forward; when it’s about to bite you, you can dodge sideways. Phase 2 When you get Golden Hippopotamus down to half its health, it will stop for a moment and golden branch-like thorns will grow on its back. You can use this time to perform some additional attacks from time to time, but be careful not to stay too long. At this time, Golden Hippopotamus will send a burst of holy water spikes around, and it will occasionally repeat this attack if you stay close to it for a long time. It will signal this by shaking its body, so you need to be prepared in advance. This attack has a range of about two dodge rolls, so you don’t need to retreat too far. Avoiding the spikes is mainly based on luck, because all the spikes are strewn with sizeable gaps between each spike. Rolling sideways at this time will put you in danger, so the best way to deal with it is to dodge forward. The most dangerous attack is when Golden Hippopotamus jumps into the air and stays there for a few seconds before falling and rolling forward. This move is very powerful and can kill you if you are not at full health. Given the size of Golden Hippopotamus, your best bet for surviving is to dodge forward as it falls, or, if you are far from the impact point, dodge forward as it rolls towards you. At this stage, Golden Hippopotamus will replace the previous head swing with a powerful bite. It will lunge forward to bite, then turn its head to the side, so you need to stay away from its face. In addition, its major method - charging is also used at the same time. Both attacks give you the opportunity to get close to the side or back of Golden Hippopotamus and quickly reduce its health with your melee attacks. If you want to deal more damage, you can use string or charged attacks and powerful weapon skills to break Golden Hippopotamus’ balance. When you defeat Golden Hippopotamus, you will get: Aspect of Crucible: Thorns incantation Inspired form Hippo’s spines Two Scadutree Fragments Hopefully, you can easily defeat Golden Hippopotamus according to the steps in this guide, and have fun exploring Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC!Jun-26-2024
